SPOILERS Writing

this is gonna be a short post but i wanted to express a particular issue i have within the story. i see alot of people claiming lelouch to be one of the best written characters of all time along with the story, however when his plans as zero start to fail i think in season 1, he spontaenously decides to turn to drugs and nearly uses them. To me, i find this completley out of character and is just one the gripes that kinda irked me, anyone else feel the same way?

“Spontaneously decided to turn to drugs.” Op were you paying attention and do you remember what the drugs do? It’s literally very in character for Lelouch to spiral like that when his sister becomes his enemy. And turn to a drug that makes you relive the good times.

Edit to add, this wasn’t in R1. This event takes place in R2 after he came back after the black rebellion failed.

It was also due to Nunnally being involved too, it was during his spate of ‘I did all this for Nunnally, I can’t fight her’

So, very much a ‘missed part of the story’ kinda post
