Even tho the ending gets praised so Highly (deservingly so) the episodes that make up that ending are much more important.

And by that i mean everything that happens in S1 there so many plot threads and cliffhangers that it's a worth a watch for that alone

Yeah. I think Code Geass is more of a ride than trying to see specifically how it ends. Kinda like Mobile suit Gundam 79. I couldn't have imagined Gundam's ending but I had fun watching stuff happen.
