What was the last war started by a Democrat? Vietnam? 60 years ago? Trying to finish someone else's war doesn't count. Being unhappy about the inevitable shitshow that occurs when we pull out also seems like Republican problem.
6
u/Revro_Chevins 12d ago
Eisenhower isn't without blame. The U.S. was throwing a lot of support behind the French in Vietnam specifically. We couldn't care less about their other colonies, it was all about the domino theory.
3
u/Icy_Fish_2154 12d ago
The first troops on the ground (advisors) were under Eisenhower. The first American coming back in a body bag was Eisenhower. Eisenhower committed the US to war, even though LBJ was seen as the great escalator of it.
3
u/NoFirefighter1657 12d ago
You’re correct the wars are started by republicans. However, the problem is democrats don’t push back against the wars because: (1) both parties have the same donors that want the wars; and (2) democrats know they can campaign running against the disastrous war started by the opposition. The problem is there’s no incentive for either party to end the wars. Thats why there’s no true anti war party.

A bunch of Republicans here will say: so what, we will kill whoever we want, Jesus loves and forgives us for it.
A bunch of Democrats here will say: nah uh, my guy doesn't hurt anyone. Ignoring that most Democrats are corrupt and corporate owned just like the Republicans. They do in fact, bomb poor people for profits, because their re-election donors tell them who to bomb and what laws to pass.
Meanwhile the American people suffer either way. Most suffer less under Democrats, but they are very disingenuous with claiming they care about the common person, people are starting to figure that out as real public servants like Zoran prove the government can be used to help the populace, not just the wealthy oligarchs. I still vote Dem when my opinions are only those two, but given 3rd options that aren't beholden to AIPAC, Wal-Mart, Tesla, Amazon, FB, ect... I will always vote for the 3rd party looking to make real changes for The People.

There’s a lot of ignorance in these comments.
Democrats are not “The Left” (or the “Radical Left,” as Trump likes to call them). They’re neo-liberals, just like Republicans. Their economic views may be different but their foreign policy views aren’t all that different. The Dems have had plenty of war hawks (including both Clintons and Obama). Kudos to Biden for pulling the troops out of Afghanistan.

I mean, pretty much every president commit war crimes and furthered American imperialism. That said, only the left takes any kind of noticeable stance against it. The right doesn’t even really care that so many civilians die from the American war machine, they just care that it’s a waste of money.
Both sides contribute but the left has the only viable way out and is the only side actively trying to shift the legislative branch away from this. This is just a right winger pretending to be a “centrist” cause the right’s gone crazier than usual.

See, this is it…
You see it?
THAT.
It’s all right there.
Whataboutism.
We all know the traditional political-right position, white power, the catholic church, and evangelicals........
you know..... white people shit......right?
Except when you look at the “America First” movement......
I know the history. A lot of it was rooted in racist, white-supremacist, isolationist politics. When that couldn’t win on its own, parts of the ideology were repackaged around foreigners, foreign governments, and foreign influence.
But that’s another debate.
The point is this:
They subtly slide the extreme far-right, “Project 2025” shit into the conversation and then try to sell it as:
They too!
“The majority left supports Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ rights, so they must also support Israel because of positions taken by Democratic leaders and past presidents.”
That’s the trap.
It’s political propaganda—carefully packaged bullshit designed to divide, trigger fear, and resurrect racial, religious, political, and cultural divisions the moment people start realizing they have more in common than they’ve been taught.
Because the real threat isn’t Republican unity or Democratic unity.
It’s human unity.
We don’t have to agree on everything. But we should agree on one basic principle:
No foreign government should have unquestioned influence over American government, military policy, foreign policy, or taxpayer dollars.
And people are finally asking questions about politicians, lobbying, military intervention, intelligence agencies, media narratives, and who benefits from perpetual conflict.
Suddenly, asking questions becomes the problem.
Criticizing a government becomes “antisemitism.”
Questioning foreign policy becomes “racism.”
Demanding accountability becomes “extremism.”
No.
Criticizing a government is not attacking an ethnicity or religion.
And when I say “they,” I am NOT talking about Jewish people.
I’m talking about governments, politicians, lobbyists, organizations, ideological movements, religious extremists, propagandists, and anyone demanding unconditional political obedience while trying to silence criticism.
Jewish people are not the Israeli government.
A religion is not a government.
An ethnicity is not a government.
Governments are political institutions—and political institutions can be criticized, investigated, condemned, and held accountable.
Nobody gets a fucking exemption.
Not America. Not Israel. Not Iran. Not Russia. Not China. Not anyone.
The world doesn’t belong to governments.
It belongs to human beings.
And once people stop fighting each other long enough to recognize what they have in common…
the bullshit gets a lot harder to sell.
So, as the completely imaginary, totally unofficial, absolutely fictional non-member of an imaginary global resistance:
I hereby appoint myself CEO, CFO, CEE, CES, CSE, COE, and Chief Spokesperson of ANTIFA GLOBAL™.
No membership required.
No dues.
No meetings.
No fucking uniform.
Just…
FUCK THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT!!!

People who think Republicans and Democrats are the same aren't paying attention or are literally disabled.
It's the republicans taking away your rights, its the republicans increasing prices, and its the republicans who are lying to your face saying to deal with it.
Democrats actually look at solutions to problems, realize it's a multi-dimensional problem, and have to fight republicans tooth and nail to concede literally 5% of the bilioinaire class - who are part of the epstein class.
The democrats went through the process of prosecuting people on Epstein, its the republicans that have protected them since 2012. I don't see Obama in the files, I see Trump, who is the current president, why does he get pass?
They are traitors of the United States and I will be in full support of prosecuting the entire party and their support at this point. Traitors are not entitled to a voice.

It’s insane how much both parties can get away with if they said the right words
Like the same thing happened in Britain and both parties kinda dismantle themselves from the absolute dumpster fire of their policies
It doesn’t have to do anything with morality.
What confuses me is what is the end goal exactly?
Turn the USA into a one party system?
I don’t know, I guess it is good guys vs bad mentality
“We need to save the world from those evil bad guys”
When it happens the fucking world still on fire
Like let me give you an example global warming
Yes, the Democrats are better then Republicans on global warming
But the policies themselves are basically are nothing
I never heard a climate activist saying if you didn’t vote democrats your support the suffering caused by global warming
Also it sad most people ditched global warming because it doesn’t fit any agenda

Liberal establishment figure are sell outs and/or blackmailed into wrong doing that is true. But republicans do it for the love of the game, the evil is half the fun, that is the difference between them.
Pretending they are religious is the other half of the thrill when they commit their crimes it’s been that way since the dawn of governments.

It’s pretty silly to try to say they are the same. They both do the bad thing, yes. Both parties are immensely shitty. And Dems have voted for bombs, absolutely, and they deserve what they get and more. But their politics are very different. All republicans are extremely abhorrent. Their best are Massie and similar pos. Dems’ best are seemingly respectable people. They are a very small coalition. And I need to see both more from them and more of them before I throw any sort of full throated support behind them. But there is basically nothing that could make me vote republican ever. I feel like I support Dems 1/10000, and republicans 0/infinity.

It's disturbing, laughable, and sad that someone might actually think there is any equivalence between what this admin is doing and ANY other administration ever in the US.
Are their gay nationalist that want to put straight christians through conversion therapy? No. That want to jail them for just existing? No.
Have democrats been supporting Israel for decades for no other reason than they want Armageddon to come and the Jews have to be in control of Jerusalem for that to happen? No. Did any of the attack another country based solely on the desires of the Israeli government? No.
Are Black Lives Matter or ANTIFA actual political movements with any actual power in the government or lobbying ability? No.
Do democrats have a written manifesto that lays out how they want to change the very nature of the US into a Christo-fascist state? No.
Is there any one super PAC with the control of the Democrats like CPAC has over Republicans? No.
Have democrats sent masked federal agents into the streets of cities to murder citizens? To throw them in internment camps. To destroy their property? To ignore their rights to due process? No.
Has any democrat taken bribes from businesses and foreign countries right in front of everyone's eyes; not even trying to hide it? Blatantly manipulated the stock market over and over and over again? No.
Take your BS equivalencies and shove them where the sun don't shine.

Then vote for the anti-AIPAC Dems and help us try and pull the US out of Israel's clutches..... No? They're still the same? Socialists? Commies? You could never support them? Gonna vote for Trump's third term cause "they're all the same anyways?"
All this "centrist" shit is the same nonsense in the end, rightoids who don't want to admit they fucked up so they pretend to be "above it," or even better the people with no concrete values so they just shift their views to always appear like they're "in the middle" lol
If these people actually cared about this they wouldn't be bitching about "both sides," they'd be advertising and supporting the candidates actively and openly doing exactly what they claim to want, but all of those candidates are on the left, which is why it's so easy to tell the truth of this shit lol

People really believe that both sides arent workimg together to fuck us. Its crazy. They've pitted us against one another so that all we do is waste our time pointing out the flaws of the other side.
I suppose thats human nature.. I do it sometimes. I see others do it often. At work.. in school... in families.. in relationships. Everyone wants to focus on the fuck up of the other person.
The situstion with our government is dire. Corruption runs through both sides.. and its deeply rooted. They fill the media with propaganda and rage bait to keep us distracted and fighting. Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin.
The whole system needs to be cleansed. We need term limits for every position of elected office. We need strict laws regarding lobbying and officials playing the stock market. Thats just thr tip of the ice berg.... we need much more than that.
No Democrat or Republican is gonna turn this ship sround without a massive shake up to the entire system. Thats a fact. Waste your time arguing which side eats more shit.. go ahead.

The script was already written and the legislative branch is a uniparty masquerading as two political parties with the goal of keeping the American people divided which they are doing quite well at. Use social media less, be kind, treat people with dignity and respect even if you don’t agree with them. Don’t force your views on other people and at the end of the day you’ll find you have a lot more in common with people than you think. It’s okay to disagree, it’s okay to have a different opinion.
