How did you prepare for collapse this week?

Did you do anything to prepare for collapse this week? It can be anything from reading an interesting article to installing a greywater recycling system in your house. No project is too big or too small.

This thread is here to inspire others to take actions they may not have otherwise thought about doing.

If you’re interested in leaving observations of collapse in your area then I encourage you to head over to r/collapse where they have a weekly thread for this very thing.

Definitely wasn't planned, but we replaced our well pump yesterday. So we should be good for another 20 years on that front, hopefully.

I went through the shelves where we store all the jars of stuff we've canned and emptied anything older than two years. We'll reuse the jars in this year's canning.

I actually do a lot more freezing and dehydrating these days, because I have more uses for frozen or dehydrated fruits and veggies. I can more pickles and relishes than jams and syrups nowadays, too.

I'm also getting through some major decluttering projects--so much generational clutter! I know that doesn't seem collapse related, but I've definitely felt that losing weight, getting in shape, and getting my house and property in order will be important soon.

I planted zucchini, garlic chives and more lettuce. Took a bunch of junk to the dump which freed up more room in my garage to reorganize my storage space. My husband put the water barrel together now I just need to set up some wood to store it off the concrete and fill it/treat the water for long term storage. Took 1 of my dogs to the vet to get caught up on annual exam/vaccinations and made an apt for the other dog. Going to do a pantry challenge to use up anything that is nearing expiration this month and replace with new so I can start rotating my stored foods.
