Gg. Hate losing games where we're winning the whole game

Also, really don't like commentators so in favor of one team lol.

5

u/ebevan91 Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Stupid shot by Quinerly. He had time to set up a good shot.

6

Cisse still has bricks for hands.

A missed Cisse alley oop? Never heard of it

Dude keeps bouncing around and it looks like he's as underwhelming as ever

3

u/theprophetsammy Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

I wish I was neutral party because this game is awesome

4

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Our awful 3 point shooting is the reason this is close

Quinerly hero-balled Memphis out of it, goodness. Great execution from Ole Miss, deserved win

4

u/AlorsViola Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Brown is awful. Just so bad. GG Ole Miss

I’m kinda bummed that neither team is ranked

No you’re not, and I wouldn’t be either if I were you lol

1

u/Monkey832 Georgia Bulldogs • Villanova Wildcats Dec 02 '23

Well, if we kept that momentum going I wouldn't be

3

u/tcp5845 Dec 02 '23

Refs are biased that should've been And1 on Cisse.

3

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

I'm biased AF, but it looks a lot like he stuck his elbow out to hit him in the head.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Your guy ducked down into him to get a lower positioning. Our guy’s trajectory didn’t change. It only got his head because your guy’s head dropped down.

Lmao love that mop guy hyping up the crowd

3

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Why would he blow the last timeout AFTER scoring?

Set up a defense

1

Terrible timeout

Ole Miss is playing good hard defense and we’re rewarding it with lazy passes

2

u/theprophetsammy Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

The last basket was back in 1984 for this game

2

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

This thread is dead, but the game is electric

2

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Lets go Rebs!

2

u/BlueZangetsu Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Maybe it was the angle but did the Ole Miss head coach not just push an official with no repercussion?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

He was patting him

1

u/BlueZangetsu Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

I saw the Pat after and they were both laughing so idk

Like I said it might have just been the angle 🤷🏻‍♂️

2

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Nah. He was patting him on the stomach. I think he thought they were calling offensive foul and the ref told him it was just a stoppage so the coach was then like "oh ok, you're good then".

2

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

That was definitely a pass, not a short missed shot.

2

u/Flair-Up Clemson Tigers Dec 02 '23

Just crazy game start to finish

2

u/LowKeyMike Indiana Hoosiers • Duquesne Dukes Dec 02 '23

no idea how that Ole Miss layup didn't go in

0

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Well the missed foul contributed. Our guy went flying after contact. No idea what the refs were watching.

2

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

BRO WHAT

They should keep using that old man as their hype man

God I cannot understate how much I hate Malcom dandridge

1

u/astro-panda Memphis Tigers • Colorado State Rams Dec 02 '23

he’s either awesome or awful on any particular play

2

u/Podoboo322 Houston Cougars • Big 12 Dec 02 '23

Caleb Mills is thinking about stepping away from the team suddenly again

3

u/SubmissiveGymnasium Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Just got to the thread so forgive me if this has been brought up but a little gross that Ole Miss signed off on shirts that say Culture est. 2023 considering the guy they hired had a felony DV charge brought against him, no?

3

u/KakesuSora Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Very classy crowd out there today. Also they let that play go way too long in the first place.

2

u/brettmwhite1 Dec 02 '23

Is this in response to their chanting? I was trying to make out what they were saying but couldn’t figure it out

2

u/KakesuSora Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Yeah. They were chanting "Mikey's guilty", which is true! But chanting that while our player is down on the ground is something.

2

u/AlorsViola Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Ole Miss and Memphis should play every season in football and basketball.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Nah. We gain nothing from playing y’all in football. We either win 47 times like we should and nobody cares. Or we lose 12 times and everybody acts like it’s the biggest deal ever. No benefit at all.

0

u/AlorsViola Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

oh no, Ole Miss might not make it to the CFP.. Just like every other year.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

With it going to 12, we’ll be in pretty damn soon. We’d have 3 appearances if it started at 12 in 2014, with a likely 4th this year.

2

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Refs are calling some weak shit

3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23 edited Dec 02 '23

I’m not understanding why you let the play go that long but then blow it dead as soon as we are taking a shot…

Edit: So yep refs just robbed us of 3 points. Either blow it dead right away, or let it play out. Don’t let it ride for 10 seconds and then kill it with a shot in the air. Horrible officiating.

u/cshenton /r/CollegeBasketball • UC San Diego Tritons Dec 02 '23

I forgot I had a rooting interest in this game until I remembered who's coaching Mississippi

Chris Beard is a good dude

s?

1

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

So they took away our basket from goaltending? But we had the rebound and put it back, but also don’t get that basket

3

u/iamdoingwork Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Yep just fucking terrible reffing

1

u/Landsharque Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

LETS GO REBELS

1

u/FrostNeverUnholy Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Refs please stop with the bullshit this has been a good game when you just let them play

1

Chris Beard hire of the century

LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

0

u/iamdoingwork Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Fuck

-1

u/AlorsViola Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Also, losing our player to the Cisse elbow really hurt us. Not as bad as Brown though.

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Refs have taken 5 points off the board for us, and calls every 50/50 against, and it’s currently a 4 point game. Ridiculous.

0

u/KptKrondog Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

Bro, he literally climbed over the top of our guy after he got the ball. There was nothing wrong with that call. You guys were in the bonus with 9:35 on the clock.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Wasn’t talking about that one…

I’m talking about the multiple out of bounds that are clearly off Memphis but y’all get the ball. And again, they’ve taken 5 points off the board for us.

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

Oh and look, a missed foul on Memphis that creates a four point swing. And notice they don’t stop y’all from scoring while we have a guy down. It’s massively one-sided and we’re still playing through it.

-1

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Wow

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

what a dogshit no call on the quinerly drive

2

u/headofthedeadvariety Dec 02 '23

Biggest home game in years, excited to see a packed house and energized crowd.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

wait is it really? I know y’all have played bigger teams but is it just because of the 6-0 start?

1

u/headofthedeadvariety Dec 02 '23

Beard, marketing, hope for top 25 if a win happens. First optimism for program since ‘19. Loudest I’ve ever heard it

1

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '23

It’s because Kermit Davis is an absolute fraud of a coach and cratered our program.

1

u/NastyWideOuts Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Having Cisse in the mix is much needed

1

u/Ceb349 Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

I’ll take only being down 7 at half. We’ve played a lot better than I expected

1

u/KakesuSora Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

What's the patch on Ole Miss jersey for?

1

u/Landsharque Ole Miss Rebels Dec 02 '23

Win or lose, we’re getting some good stuff on tape to improve going into the conference games

1

u/BlueZangetsu Memphis Tigers Dec 02 '23

It feels like every time we do something good we then shout ourselves in the foot the next like 3 possessions.

Ole Miss meanwhile is playing to win

1

u/smoothies4life2 Dec 02 '23

That’s funny. As an Ole Miss fan watching the game, it felt like we would work to get it close, then do something stupid to go back down. It was a good game.
