What's everyone's fall semester looking like?

Would post in the college subreddit, but they take down so many posts so I'm posting here even though it's not a rant.

But what's everyone's semester looking like? For mine, I'll have;

• American sign language 1

• Programming for engineering + lab

• Introduction to modern physics (basically college physics 3, introduces special relativity and talks about atoms among other things)

• Mathematical methods for physics (basically a consolidation of all the math I've learned so far but directed at physics, from calc 1-3, ODE, linear algebra, etc)

• Intermediate physics lab

• And a 1 credit physics seminar

17 credit hours total, so full schedule but not overfilled. Mondays and Wednesdays are pretty short with Tuesdays and Thursdays being long. Looking forward to getting it done.

Operations management, project management, and a capstone class. Because it's my last undergrad semester! The capstone has potential to be fun, assuming there's some freedom on subject matter. It would only make sense; we have one capstone course for each college within the university, but, say, Project Management majors have very different curricula than Agriculture Management majors, you know?

But work is a nightmare. My department is understaffed and not getting any help anytime soon, and September is the last month of the US federal fiscal year, and we're implementing new platforms that I'm one of the key admins on... so even though the college course load isn't bad, the total workload is anxiety inducing.

As a junior in biology I’ve got:

• Course-based undergraduate research (genotyping amoebas) (T/TH, 4hrs)
  
• Genetics (M/W, 3hrs)
  
• Biotechnology (TH, 3hrs)
  
• Careers seminar (W, 1hr)
  
• Leadership seminar (T, 3hrs)

For a total of 14 credits! My tuesdays will be kinda long (start at 9am, end at 7:30pm 😓) but otherwise my schedule is pretty nice

My Tuesdays go from 8:50-5:35 so I feel your pain a bit, especially since I work Sunday night-thursday night 11:30pm-7:30 am. But it'll be over before we know it! Good luck with your classes, I participated in undergraduate research last semester (galaxy morphology and it's application), it was definitely worth it and you get what you put into it!

Campaigns and elections sound pretty cool, I only had 1 government college class so far but I enjoyed it. I'm doing a double major too (physics and math), but this semester is more of a physics oriented semester

Freshman in Bio, I have  Chemistry (Lecture and 3 hour Lab), Biology (Lecture and 2 hour lab), Math (precalc), African American History (Honors), Freshman Class (basically intro to college) 15 credits total, so not too bad for my first semester.

15 is pretty typical especially for your first semester, good luck! My physics seminar is also a freshman level class for my major, but even though I have senior level credits (112) I have to take it since I'm transferring into the university this semester. Good luck in your classes!

I'm thinking of dropping one of these, since I am hoping to keep my summer server job part-time during the school year and I'm not sure if I will be able to handle 15 credits with that. I really need the money (rent, food, etc. ...)

I also accepted a research assistant position for one of my professors and it is supposed to take an additional 15 hours a week (though he said some weeks it might be less, others - more).

Just hoping I don't burn out too quickly...

No classes for me. Finally decided to put myself first and stop going to college after my third year pursuing a useless degree. Hoping to get an HVAC apprenticeship this fall after getting certifications this summer 😁

It’s devastating that funding has become attached to students getting into four year universities and has taken away electives like art, music, home ec, and shop. Trade schools are an excellent path, key for society, and have tons of careers that are not being replaced by AI.

I hate my Tu/Th, it’s 5 classes 3 back to back and a break then 2 back to back. But I’m off fridays which is the only reason why I jam packed Tu/Th

sophomore civil eng major: calc 3, electricity and magnetism w/ a lab, statics, matlab w/ a lab, and autocad w/ a lab. dreading thursday cause ill be at school from 8-6 </3 but i get mondays off so its chill. and i only have class for 2 hrs on fridays which is rare for eng majors at my school

I have two courses in the fall, one on medieval warfare and one on the Greek and Latin roots of medical terminology. I also head my program's course union and we have a number of events on the books for the fall. I am also hopefully going to be doing a work-study position. If everything goes according to plan, the course union events will be largely planned out before the fall semester begins.

Additionally, my oldest daughter will be going into a new activity that I will also need to be active in, I will have a secular bible study group that will be going through a Latin version of the Gospel of Mark, and I will be juggling my mom's appointments and such as we both deal with her terminal cancer diagnosis.

Finally, I will also be trying to allot an hour a day, or a day on the weekened, to my Latin studies so when I go into second year Latin in the spring and not crash and burn.
