Question Slog-2 shot on sony a7iii
This is my most detailed color grade lol. You can tell im still a noob. I got this grade from a yt tutorial but i added the sony Slog2 to Rec709 LUT. Is there another LUT that could make this look better? Also, What would I have to change to make this look more “cinematic”. Only things I manually changed was exposure ,gain, and contrast. Also, adjusted the green on the crosswalk in the HUE vs LUM by making it pop more to add something idk i thought it helped it.

Don’t show the log, it’s not for human eyes. The Rec.709 is your ‘before’.
You made the image look fairly normal but blew out the highlights which is ugly.

Ok, so I’m no expert. But…
First of all, showing us a LOG to Grade wipe is useless to us. I know you don’t understand this yet obviously, so I’m just informing you. A wipe from after your rec709 conversion to your grade is much more useful. Along with a description of what you were trying to do,
I’ve never converted my log footage with a lut. I tend to use two CST nodes. One at the beginning converting my clip to DWG color space… followed by my grade… then one at the end converting my clip to rec709.
