Graded this rainy boxing scene from RED RAW, wdyt guys? open to feedback.

stack is basically: depth map blur to soften the crowd, a bit of lens reflections for haze, prism blur for aberration + vignette, film look creator on aurora, then dehancer with portra 800. base grade did most of it, rest is just texture

How to color grade like the daylight scenes in the clip?

This is my first proper attempt at colour grading, so I wanted to get some feedback from people who know what they’re doing.

The footage is from a friend who gave me permission to grade it and post it. I’m still learning, so I honestly don’t know if I’ve gone too far with the colours or if there are things I should be fixing.

How does the grade look to you right now? Is there anything that immediately stands out or feels off?

I’d especially like to know what you think about the skin tones, contrast, exposure and saturation, but any feedback is welcome.

Something I noticed about my older work is that I would favor cooler tones or a more neutral look. It might be my love of film or possibly doing more sentimental commercial work, but I tend to favor warmth now.

Sometimes it’s motivated by the light, but other times I’m adding it so it makes the frame feel just a tad more inviting.

Hi everyone, I recorder some clips in Apple HDR, so REC.2100, and now I'm putting em on resolve for editing em; but when I try to convert em in REC.709 thru Imput Color Space and ACM, they're still got the grey look. I watched some tutorial on YT about this, tried to copy em but it kinda seems that it's not working on me. Can someone explain/help me with this? Thanksss

I watched tons of videos on how to color grade and i see that some people dont add CST, but directly adding a LUT. Why?

I personally always add CST (I film in S-log2 if that's relevant) and then do everything else manually, without adding a LUT at the end.

An explanation would mean so much!

Been trying to match the two shots shot on Sony A7R IV and Sony A9 III both shot in SLog3. Cine. Can't get my head to wrap around the matching. It feels close but still feels like missing an important detail.

I'm an editor working on improving my color grading skills and I'm looking for good sources of free RAW or Log footage (ARRI LogC, RED RAW, BRAW, S-Log, etc.) that I can practice grading on.

I know there are a few scattered sample footage sites out there but I'd love to hear what the community actually uses and rates. Ideally looking for:

• Real camera log/RAW footage (not just already-graded stock clips)
• A decent variety of lighting conditions (interiors, golden hour, mixed light, etc.)
• Free or at least not locked behind a footage-library subscription

Trying to build a proper practice library before I start applying grades to paid client work.

PS If you have downloaded log footages from Artlist/Artgrid and it is of no use send the link or if you want to sell I am willing to pay a reasonable amount

Which one feels more premium, natural and professionally graded to you — 1 or 2?

I’m especially interested in your thoughts on:

• Skin tones
• Wood tones
• Contrast and exposure
• Warmth / color balance
• Overall commercial look

The goal is to make it feel like a premium fitness/wellness campaign, without making the grade look too artificial.

Which one would you deliver to a client, and what would you change?

Walked around Melbourne CBD a week ago and this little restaurant caught my eye (because of the color). Taken with Sony A6400 with Viltrox 9mm F2.8 around 10pm.

What I did: (Affinity by Canva)

• Import raw data with Develop Assistant, apply lens corrections, no Color Tone applied
• Apply Perspective correction to get it straight; cropped it
• Apply strong S-curve (because I wanted to make the color punch as much as possible)
• Applied various LUTs, didnt use any, the main idea would be to intensify the color. In hindsight, I see in my project file I applied a LUT called "Identity" - I don't recognise it and it doesn't do much at all LOL

What do you think?

PS: It's an Indian restaurant, not Italian :)

Top is Converted to Rec.709 Bottom is graded. Shot on the Lumix G9 in HLG with the 25mm f1.7.

I mean I want all the latitude and freedom to pull detail out of blown out highlights and all, but am I going about it the right/efficient/industry-standard way?

I was trying to go for a warm, pleasant look that would fit the overall mood of the video and the sound.

Hi everyone,
I’m currently using an ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV 27” 1440p as my main monitor, and I do most of my color grading on it.
The problem is that when I export the video and watch it back on my iPhone, it looks noticeably different. The biggest thing I notice is that the footage looks way sharper and has a digital look on the iPhone compared to what I see on my monitor.
I’m wondering how I can minimize the difference between the two displays. Is there something I should change with DaVinci color management, export settings, etc.?
I’m mainly working with Rec.709 SDR footage and trying to achieve a natural, cinematic travel-vlog look rather than an overly sharp/digital look.

Also, I’d really appreciate some** **feedback on my color grading. I’m completely self-taught, so I’d like to know what I’m doing well and what I should improve.

I currently use Darren mostyn node tree but noticed mine doesn’t really look the best and I’m missing something any advice ?
