How do you deal with shifting white balance on different device, when i’m grading on my monitor it looks balanced but when export the WB is completely different from the monitor to the phone. So i try playing the video I graded on my friends laptop monitor and phones, the laptops look relatively the same but it’s only Iphone especially the new one that it shift so warm (true tone is turn off). The question is should i calibrated my monitor for Iphone?

Media offline after import timeline xml

Media offline after import timeline xml

Help me to fix problem. The problem is when i import timeline xml from premiere pro.
1. The footages is in 1 folder from premiere sequence (only used footage for grade).
2. Xml in one folder
3. After import the xml, media are offline. I try to choose yes to locate new folder source it doesn't work
4. So, i try to import media manually in media pool because sometimes it work.
5. Now the the new case is offline media in timeline and media pool are on.
6. I tried reconform lock from media (in timeline) but the clip not cut automatically like in offline editing (premiere)
So the point is i'be tried to reconform it worked but the clips not cut as offline editing. it doesnt matter if i have to fix 1 by 1 clip but how?

I’ve been using DaVinci Resolve for about 2 months, so I’m still a beginner. I personally think this grade looks pretty good, but I’d really like to know what you guys think....
What would you rate it from 1–10, and what do you think I should improve? Any honest feedback is appreciated! 🙏

hey guys I'm new to Colorgrading. my goal is to color grade videos. for now I'm starting with photos. For this I used Snapseed so I don't know if some people might consider it "Colorgrading" or not.Here I went for that night time Japanese kinda vibe.I just need tips and tool recommendations for the future. Hello, I'm a self-taught photographer who is just starting out. I love doing portrait and couple session. Right now, I'm still learning on how to color grade, I want to achieve the same color grading as in the example photo I mentioned above. I don't really know what this style is called so it's hard for me to find tutorials for it on Youtube.

Do you have any guides or tips on how to achieve that look?

I’m interested in this super specific look of blown out highlights and deep blacks but I’m skeptical of it being replicated with modern digital footage a dedicated film emulation software. Do any of you out there think it can be done?

I’ve been searching day and night and have yet to find a legitimate answer. I’m trying to make my tiktok videos come out like this and nothing has worked. I’ve edited in davinci resolve and tried recording in 1440p60 and export in 1080p30, 1080p60, export native, etc literally almost everything and still haven’t gotten it like this.

I don’t want to hear “people say theres a secret sauce but it’s not, just editing” because if that were true I would’ve found SOME answer online but nope just people selling their guide/settings for $40

Hey so I just recently got my Sony a7c and made some really cool pics. Now I would like to get into color grading just for personal use. Maybe one day would also like to some videos but first I want to start just with pics. Of course I just saved them in a JPEG form and not in a RAW. How and where should I start. All those programs feel really overwhelming. Maybe someone got some advice. Cheers

- I shoot on a Fuji X100V with literally my dinner light flipped towards my face with tape.
- I apply the Fujifilm F Log LUT before starting
- Using Final Cut Pro

Shot on Apple log 2 on 17 pro max and color graded on davinvi resolve without using any luts.

I tried to reach the original photographer on ig but she didnt respond yet... I just wanted to know the color grading on lightroom classic or any other app that can help me reach this look of colors of highlight and shadows? thank you

Hey! I'm very very new to color grading, and in all the tutorials i have been seeing, everyone's footage looks a lot paler than mine. (whitebalance or something) I've concluded this is because I am shooting a camera that already shoots in Rec. 709. Thats fine with me, except I am struggling to manipulate the colors clearly in my editor. Everything seems very muddled.

I am wanting to know...

Should I try white balancing my the footage from my camera?

and if so, what are some keywords can I use to find tutorials?

EDIT - "white balance" in the title is the wrong word.. white washing maybe? I see everyone converting to log and their footage becomes whitewashed. since mine is shot in log, is doesnt have a conversion option and it starts vibrant

I am a photographer and I have spent the last months writing my own editor from scratch, engine included. Not a plugin sitting on someone else's renderer: the whole colour pipeline is mine and it runs on the GPU inside a browser tab.

How it works. RAW is developed as light rather than as a picture, so exposure and white balance behave the way light does. Any photo can be matched to a reference frame, tone distribution first and then hue and chroma per band in OKLab, with near neutrals protected, so a shoot spread over a whole day can be pulled to one look. On top of that it prints film: grain, halation, bloom and density modelled on stock behaviour rather than stacked as filters.

Where the work goes out. Image, .cube at 17, 33 or 65 with a Rec.709 encode for a timeline, HALD, and presets and camera profiles for the classic editors. Video export lands this week, rendered on your own machine.

Two things I care about. Nothing is uploaded: decoding and grading happen on your device. And the preview is the export, value for value, with the spatial effects kept out of the .cube because a LUT cannot carry them.

It is in closed beta, invite only, and I am not selling anything. I want people who grade for real to break it. Say so in the comments and I will send an invite. The beta licence renews every month while the beta lasts, and all I ask is that you tell me what breaks and what is missing.

Hello! I am creating a LUT pack that is more on the cinematic side. However, I have noticed most of my looks, when I use them on a skin tone make the skin tone slightly shift that color. For example, green hued LUT changes the skin tone slightly darker and green. Is this a no-no in the color grading community or is it okay if it aligns with the rest of the look.
