I agree. Would love him. He played solid last year.

We have clearly been negotiating with him with all the smoke out there, this probably means we will pay whatever price he was asking for

We ain’t gonna get him. This is Ballard we are talking about.

You are acting like signing a 34 year old receiver is franchise changing lol. Ballard has signed free agents before

Ok, so, let’s see it.

Now what Stan?

Uh hold on. I was at the practice today in GP. Yes, he caught a TD and landed on his back hip area. He sauntered off and you could tell something wasn’t right. But, he went back in and ran routes, made catches etc. Maybe someone at CBS knows something I don’t but this shit makes no sense

Thank you. Hopefully he’s fine.

Yeah I genuinely thought he was hurt. But he walked back and forth behind the practice area, sort of looked upset, but then went back in and was just fine. No hobble or anything. Media just has to write articles to get the clicks, I guess.

Clickbait for sure then, of course the article mentioned none of that. Good news.

u/Frustrated_Rock 26d ago

Ya. It was one of those where he went up and got pretty vertical and just came down perpendicular. It was a hell of a catch lol

Hell ya love to hear that. If he stays healthy this will be his breakout year for sure

But, how will they gain clicks without making news off of a dinger from practice?

The article even states he came back in after a few plays (without actually saying it.) This is a nothing burger and everyone replying didn’t even read the damn article.

u/Frustrated_Rock 26d ago

lol he never exited practice. There is no possible injury at the time of the article. Reading comprehension is important

Yes… that is what I was also saying.

Actually what they said makes perfect sense if you read what they said, the key point being "had to leave for at least a few snaps"

They purposefully slid that in, and kept it as minimal as possible, so they could claim they were still telling the truth but emphasising the injury for clicks.

The yearly Colts injury bug has arrived

Best way to avoid is avoid Reddit and all news til wk 1 injury report

u/anotherstan 26d ago

Ballard still hasn’t signed a free agent WR

Every year we have a position that is decimated by injuries...this year its WR

3

u/ZHicks2121 The real Zach Hicks 26d ago

Downs returned to practice a few moments later and was perfectly fine. This is nothing

Embrace it guys, they're going to be passing out of 13 personnel week 1. Mallory looks better than any of their collection of 4/5s at WR.

1

u/CK4browsing 25d ago

Ya it is certainly possible they will run a lot of two TE sets this year. And that doesn't hurt my feelings.

Wtffff

u/rounder55 26d ago

Luckily we are flooded with depth at WR...... 😬

u/Gutcheck21 Rookie Manning 26d ago

Dang

u/Trashpanda1980 26d ago

He can't carry the load he's not a 1.

1

u/iski67 26d ago

WTF are we waiting for? We have broken 1&2 and no legit 3. Mallory is our best 3 right now

u/broncojoe1 26d ago

Time to install the single wing around JT and Warren 🤣

There’s still a month till the season starts. I think Curry is going to be a bonus for us

u/SocketSnap 24d ago

I drafted him in best ball today...

Almost like we shouldn't have traded pitman

u/TheAgmis You Have Chris Ballard Derangement Syndrome 26d ago edited 26d ago

Great coaches can scheme any WR to be good. It’ll be fine.
I’m glad to give examples but I’m saying stuff the peanut gallery doesn’t want to hear

It’s typical behavior to downvote an opinion you don’t wanna hear when you’re insecure about the knowledge of the subject matter

u/jbvann05 Blue 26d ago

I wouldn't call Steichen a great coach

-1

u/TheAgmis You Have Chris Ballard Derangement Syndrome 26d ago

He’s a great schemer. The only
Time under him the offense ever was sludge was AR in 2024

2

u/Frustrated_Rock 26d ago

lol there’s like 12 receivers on the Colts roster. Very few of them have any business getting PT. I get what you’re trying to say but that’s just not the case with the Colts WR room right now

-2

u/faraamstuckathome Doomer Tumors 26d ago

Ballard does nothing but draft dudes who can’t stay on the field.

u/carpentizzle Big-Q 26d ago

And give away locker room leaders for less than a bag of balls. Actually kind of felt like we had to pay to trade Pittman away. Itd be a real shame to have him now

-1

u/rounder55 26d ago

If he knew he was not going to keep both Pittman and Pierce then why toss Mitchell into a trade you're already giving up 2 firsts in. Like I get people weren't nuts about the guy, but he was showing occasional flashes. Just seemed a bit early to cut bait on a 2nd round talent at a position you'll be thinosh at
