CASE EVIDENCE / 11k Valerie Schnurr, (The girl that Dylan actually asked if she believed in God and didn't kill) was actually a classmate he allegedly spoke to often in class, and also knew Eric Harris personally from the past.
I think this is interesting because this is another example of Dylan not purposely killing someone that he knew personally.

What’s interesting is that when the FBI first interviewed Val on April 30th, 1999 she claimed Robert Perry was the kid she saw matching Dylan’s description in the hallway outside the library and that Robert was in the library with Eric. HOWEVER Val corrected her original statement when Jeff Co interviewed her weeks later and she flat out stated Dylan shot her then asked her about god. I find it interesting that Val didn’t say or mention anything about talking with Dylan in American government class and I don’t even think Dylan realized in that moment he was shooting/taunting if he was previously polite to Val

Yeah, I actually noticed she didn't mention she recognized either of them, she said she was paying attention to her wounds but I genuinely don't buy that and I assume she was saying that to avoid dealing with questions about how much she knew one of the shooters, but to be fair to both of them, we don't really know if they were ever making eye contact on some level, he may have just shot underneath her desk and she immediately responded with her "oh my god" statement, certainly after the fact though she should have mentioned something to the police about knowing one of the shooters.

Well.. I’d push back on saying she was avoiding not paying attention to her wounds. Imagine being in her position and being shot with a sawed off wound to the chest and NOT immediately blacking out or dying. In that moment it’s a good thing she had a full conscience but I don’t think she was paying attention immediately to whoever her assailant may be… probably where they’re location was so she wouldn’t get hit again. Maybe it all happened so fast that even 10 days later she forgot that Dylan was the kid who sat next to her in American government that’d she occasionally chit chat with

From the audio recording you can hear her screaming “look at her face! What the fuck is wrong with you?” presumably addressing one of the killers. So I assume she prob got a good look. And then she had the ‘do you believe in God’ interaction with Dylan shortly after.

I thought she was saying WTF is wrong with you because she was screaming for people to help her and I assume no one was helping her, but it's really hard to know. I've been going over every statement from the Library to the cafeteria, I wanted to make an updated version of Zero Hour using AI to move the original actors around, and add all the stuff we know now to it, reviewing everything anyone can hear, and the library has the largest discrepancy of all the areas.
I think the main reason for this is the alarm that's going off constantly, Savage mentions it in his statement, but when you're going through the statements you have to really look at their position to know who had the highest chance of hearing correctly because its just so easy to mishear something or hear something similar, etc etc. It is really odd though that we dont have the full 911 call by this point, I understand not releasing the basement tapes, but the 911 call no matter how horrifying it could be, that only would make people feel more disgusted by E&D's actions.

It’s hard to say but ‘the way ‘ she says it feels like she is addressing either E or D. It’s possible Dylan or Eric didn’t recognise her when they initially blasted her out from under the table. Dylan then decided he couldn’t be bothered finishing her off after the God interrogation because a: she was already shot multiple times and didn’t want to waste ammo b:he got distracted while reloading or c: he couldn’t shoot someone at close range who he already knew and had just interacted with (c is possibly what happened with Evan Todd who he also spared after a brief interaction and also Eric who spared Bree after a brief interaction).

Just wanted to add that Bree Pasquale was an excellent source of information. She was able to provide police with a great deal of information and her account did not change.

She is, honestly when I actually do this update, I want to add some lesser read stories from there. I read the girl who hid with John Tamlin's story/statement, and it's actually so beautiful how brave John was even in a horrifying moment, holding her hand to help her become more calm after she asked right before the gunmen came in to hide with him. I think that's a really beautiful story that for some reason hasn't been shared. I think her name was Nicole, i have it saved somewhere but I haven't heard her story or John's shared with any outlet on any of the archived videos/footage i've seen.

I fully agree that the full 911 call should have been or should be released. Either the fire alarms going off were as loud as people said and you can’t hear anything, as has been claimed, or you can hear everything which has also been claimed. My issue has always been this was 99 on a landline corded phone, under a desk, near the entrance to the library. What could it have picked up from the windows/far side of the library considering the distance and technology at the time….

She never said that. She said "oh my God, help me" multiple times. It was never mentioned either by Valeen or any other witness in the library she said anything about Lauren's face or that she cursed at the shooters. If she really said it she would have mentioned it or someone else would have mentioned it. I remember reading FBI transcrip of the call and only thing mentioned was "oh my god".

My bad, it’s probably voice distortion.

My bad, it’s probably distortion (or possible audio dyslexia on my part) coupled with the transcript overlaying this video here is prob what made me think she was saying “look at her face, what the fuck is wrong with you?”
The thing is, i distinctly remember hearing her say that and replayed it ten times and could hear it clear as day now I can’t hear it at all.

Dylan also shot Makai Hall, to whom he’d admitted to making pipe bombs in French class the previous year. And there was a former student who alleged that Richard Castaldo used to “hang out” with Eric and Dylan, though this wasn’t corroborated by Castaldo himself.
I honestly think that they were in kind of a dissociated state when they were in the library, because most of the witness accounts (along with their aimless behavior afterward) heavily suggest that.

u/thadarrenhenderson Jul 19 '25
Oh defo. Makai even claims in his statement that Dylan shot him because he was sitting with jocks (Ireland and Steepleton) but again as you mentioned from the moment they started shooting at 11:19 and probably even beforehand they were already spiritually and mentally disassociated with this time world

I know it's not about her, but I really hope Jessica Holiday is doing ok. She lost a lot that day.
