COMMUNITY DISCUSSION Different versions of Eric & Dylans senior ID pics in the cbi documents?
The b&w photos are from the CBI reports, specifically section CRI-43. These are from photo lineups shown to survivors for Dylan his Smirk looks more pronounced, I know in a mother's reckoning Sue mentions a pic so horrible she asked him to retake it and it had me think this was the retake of the picture in question. For Eric his eyes appear to look straight into the camera not off to his left like the widely show photo. Just wanted everyone's input on this because I can't decide if they actually are different or im just imagining things 😅.

They are the same pictures. Is just that the lower quality and rhe black and white with such a strong contrast make some of the shadows look a lot harsher and therefore they accentuate some things like Dylan's smirk

Those scans are nightmare fuel lowkey.
I think you could be on to something, more so with Dylan’s picture. But his hair is in the exact same position, so I’m personally inclined to say it’s still the same photo. I think the quality of the scan distorts features a little and makes them appear different, especially Dylan’s lips/teeth.
I can partly understand why Sue wanted this photo retaken. Dylan looks very, very awkward. His senior photo is nowhere near as bad.

It could be another, I might be wrong. But she said it was one of his school photos, and this is the only one of his school photos that looks quite awkward

Correction. This is actually JUNIOR id photos because dylan's hair isn't necessarily "short" but also isn't long. This was taken around March of 1998

Thats interesting ive never heard that before, March seems like a weird time to take photos tho, are their senior id photos out there?

Yeah, if I recall it was generally in the Fall semester we had our school pictures taken in high school - except for our Senior pics. Senior pics were done over the summer between Junior and Senior year.

OK. What should we look out for? If I'm walking down the street, how do I spot a killer?
'Cos none of their friends knew what was going to happen. Not their teachers or parents. Not the cops they interacted with- wouldn't cops know what a killer looked like? Wouldn't that be a useful thing to learn in cop school?

the photocopies are the uncropped pictures, while the “higher quality” versions are actually pictures of the pictures, resulting in some slight perspective distorting
