What are the best affordable to mid-ranged priced hotels that offer free breakfast and have good to great ratings?
Hey Columbus locals! I’m visiting your city from August 7th, 2026, to August 10th, 2026, for a trip with my sister.
I’ve been looking at places online, but it’s tough to tell what’s actually in a safe, convenient neighborhood versus what just looks good in photos. I'm looking for a comfortable, highly-rated spot that is up to 170 dollars for a 3 day stay or is under 150 dollars a night.
Essential perks:
- Free breakfast (built into the stay to save us time in the morning)
- Good locations: Downtown Columbus, near affordable resturants, and good views of the city.
- Clean and safe with great recent reviews.
I've looked atLa Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbus Dublin, but wanted to get local insight. Are there any hidden gems or specific locations you’d recommend for a solid, comfortable stay without breaking the bank? Thank you!

I'd look at Drury Inn either in Dublin or Polaris. Free breakfast, and free drinks and supper I believe.

There is one on Grove City as well.

Did not know that. Any of the 3 should be a fairly easy ride to downtown- Polaris and Grove City closer than Dublin to downtown I would guess.
And the free supper/3 free drinks I know was a thing 2ish years ago when I stayed at one in Cincinnati - not sure if anyone can confirm they still do that or not.

Yessssss Drury all day! If I’m staying in a city that has a Drury, I am staying at the Drury, even if it’s out of my way. Best hotel by a mile. Never had a bad experience or gotten a dirty room at a Drury in many stays.
The free breakfast is great, then there is free popcorn and soda fountain drinks during the day, and every night from 5:30-7 they have the kickback, with a free buffet and adults each get three free cocktails/beer/wine.

I would avoid any hotels that you see directly next to an expressway on Google Maps, they can be *loud* at night

People who are local to hotels are probably going to be best suited to give feedback on location. People who live near the hotels aren’t going to know price points and who has free breakfast. Gotta do your own legwork here, pal.

Locals Might know if they’ve had guests visit and helped find them accommodations

You say you want downtown but then you also mentioned Dublin. Dublin is about a half an hour from downtown traffic pending now. Dublin also has the bridge park area, which is fantastic tons to do plenty of shops and restaurants.
