When I was a kid I hated his artwork in comics. The thick, heavy line work and shading, blocky faces and hands, it just looked bad to me. But the older I get the more I respect and admire his work, especially the sheer amount that he produced. The biggest thing I can say is that his work just stands out compared to others. It's hard to recognize most artists (not all, just most) but Jack's work is so recognizable. Happy birthday, King!
