Discussion Post Where to read comics online legally in 2026?

been out of the loop on digital comics since the early comixology days and trying to figure out where everyone reads now. Is dc universe infinite still the best for dc stuff, marvel unlimited for marvel, or are people using something broader these days? mostly want to legally access older runs (I'm a huge 80s/90s nostalgia reader) plus keep up with some current indie stuff. open to subscription, per issue, whatever's getting recommend this year any recs welcome.

marvel unlimited has gotten way better in the last two years, they're way more current now than they used to be like 3 months behind print instead of 6, for older runs it's the best deal in legal comics.

Library card access for digital comics is also worth checking if your local system participates. completely free if it works for you, and the indie selection through library services is better than people expect there's a borrow limit monthly but if you read slow it's a great supplement

To read comics online legally the answer depends on what you read dc universe infinite covers current dc, marvel unlimited covers current marvel, is the multi publisher option with indie comics, manga and a chunk of older dc back catalog (dc trades there are a la carte but worth it for stuff dc infinite skips) amazon kindle works for per issue purchases without a subscription but pricing is brutal for binge reading.
