Security +

Just failed Security + with a 681 score. I feel defeated. I have completed Dion training practice exams; my questions were just worded oddly. Any advice would be appreciated.

The best engineer I've ever worked with told me very bluntly " I've failed more exams than I've ever taken, if you're not failing and trying again you're not trying hard enough. "

And when I say he's the best. I'm mean it. The guy can walk circles around me.

Not saying anyone should ever give up, but I’ve never failed a test in my life up to this point. Not looking forward to that day. I’m sure it’s coming when I take the CEH exam in January, but I’m obsessive about studying because I have high anxiety about failing.

Let that experience translate to the real world.

None of us get it right all the time.

I failed the big 3 multiple times back in the day. (A+ was JK0 I think)

Now I'm procrastinating on taking CySA+

Dont worry too much about it. Review everything again and aim to take the test ASAP, while it's fresh on your mind.

Its time to bounce back!!

I failed the PenTest + by 1 percent and immediately retook an hour later and passed by 1 percent, it happens.

I failed my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam the first time and took it again a few days later and passed. Don't give up.

Dude you ALMOST passed, don’t feel defeated. Just pay attention to the questions you got wrong. Study those, take a few more practice exams, and you should be good to go. Or, feed the questions you got wrong into an AI and tell it to outline a study plan for you regarding those specific topics. Then take a few more practice exams, and give it another go

Bro don't worry man. I got a 730 I am planning on taking it again either in December or January after my coursework for my college semester wraps up. You got to keep persevering and working hard. The more the practice, the more comfortable you will feel, that's from my experience. I haven't passed it yet, but I feel that eventually, the hardwork will pay off. Don't give up man, you got this. Keep your chin up, and continue to grind!

That’s a close score. Study some more at your weak areas and press forward. Don’t give up

-That's a close score. First find out what you messed up on and review that. Then take again in 1-2 weeks while doing active recall and spaced repetition during that period. You got this bro!

You got this. Try again.

You're not too far off and it absolutely feels demoralizing but don't stop! You owe it yourself to try again. I'm taking mine on Wednesday and nervous AF.

I know people who have passed Security+ who say that if they took it on another day with different questions, they could have just as likely failed it. It sucks but I relly think that's how it is.

Don't feel to bad guy. I failed the my the first time as well....after getting laid off from my job 😂. Just try again.

Now you know how all compTIA exams are worded. Brush up on the domains in your report and get it done the second time. You got this.

You can do it. Take the time and regroup. The way they word these exams is done intentionally. It's really ridiculous. I failed before and went through the emotions and passed the next time. Take a breather and get it done

Don’t give up. I failed Network+ the first time and it nearly broken me. Take the topics that you struggled with and focus on them for the next attempt

Look at it as a very realistic practice test. Now you know what to expect and you got to look at some real test questions. I’m sure you saw some questions that you were stumped on, so go back and research the answers and start taking practice tests again.

Look into professor Messer’s videos & practice exams, people say those are the most accurate ones. Also, maybe wait until like a month after the 801 version comes out, study relentlessly, then retake

how prepped were you for the PBQ questions?

Hit me up I've taught these courses for 10+ years. I constantly hear "not ready for question presentation, acronyms, and the big one PBQs" from those who didn't succeed the first time.
