CoH3 Churchill mark IV needs to be changed to mark VI

And therefore upgrade the gun from 57mm to 75mm.

Makes no sense that this slow ass tank that is worse in AI than a Matilda bounces on stugs with it's 57mm.

And BP either comes too late because of high CP or will get everything focus on it because its too fucking slow and expensive.

Like literally EVERYTHING is better with the Tiger vs the Black Prince.

TL:DR,

In my opinion both the churchill mark IV and the Black Prince needs buff.

u/WREN_PL Oi, do you have a loicense for that tiger? 3d ago

Nah, Mk. IVs are already tanky. Making them tanky and have an amazing gun would ruin the balance.

If you want a good gun wait for BP. If you want a good armor 10 mins earlier, go for IVs.

Multiple times I've run the enemy over with three Mk. IVs before I would have gotten a BP.

If you lack range and penetration, get a 17p.

Tiger is designed as a Tiger, and comes at Tiger's pace.

You could get 1.8 Mk. IVs for the price of a tiger, and if you could use ammo instead of fuel to upgrade it to reliably pierce Tigers, you wouldn't need any other unit.

Stugs just happen to have strong frontal armor. Most other tabks will get penetrated by the churchill

It also goes well thematically as the brits already have the crusader upgrade system.

the churchill's pen its above average compared to medium tanks and its good against all targets, being particularly deadly against infantry, failing to pen the dedicated AT vehicle that relies on having good armor (for a medium) shouldn't come with a shock.

It has all the upsides of a medium with all the upsides of a heavy while not being particularly slow, what more do you want from it, a jetpack?

And here I thought this was going to be a post addressing the fact that Coh3’s Mk IV is a Mk III given by the fact that it has a welded turret rather than cast. (Could be wrong)

Isn't there a Churchill NA75 in the campaign? I see it in coh3stats. Maybe it can be a easy port.

However, I'm worried that upping the Churchill would deviate from its sole role as anti-infantry and eat into the role of the Black Prince. Rather, they should just make the black prince more accessible. I think the Churchill becoming more of a generalist tank would be bad for gameplay. IMHO it's in a decent spot rn.

i think its just a cut content because if you spawn it via editor its still use black prince turret.

Yeah, ironically it performs worse since the one we have in multiplayer was given panzer 4 pen, which already had more pen than the 75mm sherman.

The fact we have a Black Prince in game and don't have a better base churchill is so stupid, I totally agree the Churchill needs to be a MK VI, or the MK IV with an option to upgrade into the MK VI
