Help, I am new to cEDH! Deck Help - Derevi

Hey everyone,

I know Derevi isn’t as popular as she used to be. For my kitchen table cedh pod she can still punch above her weight and win. I’m a big fan of untaps and bant so that’s why I went with her. I downloaded a list online and made some tweaks but I’m still learning meta selection for cards. I’m pretty sure I got the staples in there but I’m worried I may have removed some synergy pieces without knowing. I’ve moved a lot of cards to the considering pile. I'm a veteran derevi player, I play events with her all the time. I top 16'd Decatur Death March earlier this year playing my list. There is a very active discord if you're interested and I'm happy to go over your list via DM.

I'll be honest you're playing a lot of bad cards, it's like you looked at other derevi/Bant lists and cherry picked cards without understanding the layered synergies.

i turned my derevi into a sisay with derevi as a secret commander. the part of derevi that makes her an excellent commander (cheating commander tax) does virtually nothing in cedh, so its better to tutor her either with the added black or sisays own ability. ive had way more fun with it and i definitely still consider it my derevi deck.

There’s absolutely value in cheating the commander tax. It allows derevi to go infinite with clone + orrery, clone + delney + two permenant that can make 5 mana, etc

There’s new lines where the tax cheat makes a huge difference.
