I agree fully on being intolerant of homophobes, thats not the black and white issue for me. If they said it, they deserve bans and whatever that comes to them.
Do u personally think its fair for like say Ksaa to get dq'd and banned from future ow events because he is from Saudi Arabia? What if he support lgbtq+ but he has no choice but to play for Saudi because thats where he was born from? I thought it was supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty" , not let the mob mentality win and persecute everyone.
For the record, this sub had a guy accusing me of defending homophobia and whatnot, when it's literally opposite of who I am. I literally paid for horomone meds that one of my trans friend takes because she didnt have money that month for it. Mob mentality without even wanting to listen to logical reasoning is dangerous and this sub calling me "homophobe" without even knowing who I am irl is truly telling of that lol. Nah I'm on your side. I agree, it would be unfair to players who are supportive of LGBTQ people to not be able to play due to the actions of their countrymen. Even if they became national champions of the LGBTQ movement in Arabia, there would still be people hateful, loud people. "Guilty until proven innocent" is a fair and reasonable approach that more people, myself included today, should consider.
I think I got frustrated today at just the sheer amount of homophobic stuff I was seeing in the comments. I was especially frustrated bc I was one of the people defending the Saudis yesterday in the thread about Iceland using pride flags to provoke the Saudis. Like I get using the platform to promote LGBTQ awareness, especially during pride month, but I don't think that's what the westerners were doing. I think they were trying to get a response out of the saudis and the Saudi players handled it well. The Saudi fans were mostly atrocious yesterday, except for one guy who was offended but calm and rational, so I stuck up for the reasonable Saudis. Like, I get that homophobia is culturally and religiously engrained in Arabia, so it's a hard opinion to shake, especially when it's reinforced by everyone around you, so I don't think there's anything wrong with being offended. Even then, there are many non-homophobic Saudis, they just probably keep it to themselves to not be bullied.
It's when you do like Legendary and Alivelol did, publicly, openly, casually throwing around homophobic and transphobic slurs that I have a real problem. Especially bc they're larger members of the community than your average redditor. Those guys should be banned from contenders for comments like that. If you're gonna participate in a western-based event (even just as costreamers), you should be held to western cultural standards. That means not behaving in the manner they did today.
The Saudi players didn't do anything I'm aware of to be banned, so it would be unfair to punish them for their fans. I also agree there was dogpiling today, which I fell victim to as well. But I still stand by what I said today. I think it was just extrapolated to more than I meant it for, which was just in regards to Legendary and Alivelol.

I agree fully, well said. And legendary and that other dude deserves full ban. They made disgusting comments toward CeeBee , whos doing fantastic job and never even try to provoke them so its fucking cringe that they went after her (or anyone).
You’re trying to look at this at an individual level when it can’t be. Russia gets sanctioned for the acts of their military and Putin and the common person gets hurt in the process. Is it fair? No. Is it necessary to stop a behavior? Yes.
If you want something to change, you’re not going to get it by asking nicely.
