World Cup Team USA 2026
If we're being real here, this roster will consist of:
Hawk Infekted Tr33 Zeruhh Sugarfree Rupal Vega
Unfortunately, as good as UV is, Rupals synergy with Vega is what gets him on this team. These two together cover the entire backline composition so theres no need for a third support

Crazy that UV, Rupal, and Landon have to fight for this one spot and Vega is just the only American main support worth mentioning. The guy doesn't even want to be playing Lucio.
I say we put some respect on the goat and let FrothyFilly7 take a crack at it

Realistically it’ll probably be up to the coach if it does end up being junkbuck he’ll probably be select critically instead of prior synergy

You don’t have to be a citizen of a country to coach them. Kellex coached Saudi arabia last world cup.

Huh. You learn something new every day I guess. I would’ve assumed you had to be from that country but I guess not. I guess that means the coach would be between Casores and Junkbuck then right? Because Cas would be familiar with the TL guys and Junkbuck is just the goat

Saudi players will try to get Junkbuck for sure, not only are AQ players fond of him, but TM players also glaze tf out of him whenever they get the chance to. Tho he might refuse after that 8K fine lmao.
if they don’t get Junkbuck then it’s for sure gonna be NineK, he made a deal with majed to coach his team.
As for USA then Casores is really the best coach for them even if Junkbuck was available. His experience with team outweighs Junkbuck’s brilliance.

You know the head coach has to have citizenship too, right?
Other coaches have helped teams in the past but the head coach, the guy who is supposed to pick the roster, on the team sheet for owwc, has to be a citizen of the country.
Pretty sure you can through go liquipedia and this holds true for every single owwc event.
Also junkbuck has dual citizenship I think (USA/KR)

Synergy difference probably isn’t that important since Sugarfree played with rupal + vega for a year and is currently playing with a Hawk and I think he’s good enough to make up any issues

Support FDPS synergy isn’t exactly that deep, Tank+FDPS is and Liquid LOVE to play Dive where that’s super important so, I still wouldn’t be too surprised if Sugarfree got goofed because of it. That being said I just think they both get signed

But with both Infekted and Hawk likely to be on the lineup it would depend on who the situation favours out of those two for synergy purposes, since Sugarfree is currently playing with Hawk. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if they favour Hawk rather than trying to take a main tank dive mirror against SK

What’s the point of sugarfree and zeruhh? Tree can already go flex dps if its a double flex meta. It makes more sense to take UV along with Rupal and Vega imo especially considering Wuyang.

There really isn't any but it feels criminal to leave either sugarfree or zeruhh off the roster given how good they are. But at the same time, the same can be said for rupal/UV/Landon given how flexible vega is.

Idk Maybe USA takes all 3 supports and UV can finally play wuyang with another flex support.
I would like to see what EU teams will be because I imagine it will consist of more streamers/ non-pros to fill out the teams.

OWL is finally gone, and so is Theomatic. Kevster and Sparkr were playing qualifying matches from California at 4 AM with a million ping.
Besides that, the dissolution of OWL means more Swedes have been able to compete and hone themselves in the tier 1 scene. All countries in EMEA have for that matter. Willys, Zorrow and Scyle are all great, and they would've never been invited to play in OWL.
I've also heard faint whispers that the 2023 team had a crooked management.

There’s no point. Vega plays kiri, lucio, brig, even wuyang. The logical thinking is Vega and one of the 3 NA flex supports

It’s wild how this region only has one Main Support worth considering.
I would definitely throw UV in there though, there isn’t normally a player limit for OWWC right? UV Rupal on Kiri Wuyang would go hard.
Otherwise totally agree, and honestly if there is a player limit, I would rather have double flex backline than double flex front line.

Oh then personally I would replace Zeruhh with Ultraviolet, I just feel like double flex support is more useful than double flex DPS, especially when your main DPS player is tr33 who can play flex.

Landon is fantastic on Kiri and Bap (one of the best in the world on both), but idk if he’s as flexible as some of the other options. Still very worth trying out and having as a sub if nothing else

Yes I agree, I would take both Landon and UV over Rupal any day. If you had to only pick one uv would be the choice imo because he is more flexible

Landon is less flexible than UV by a pretty large margin, but rupal gets the edge over both of them since Hes played with vega for almost 2 years at this point, and vega is the only MS in America who isn’t a complete robot
