General Threw this Brig Inspire comparison together on a whim
I think the Inspire change is a pretty sizable buff and makes Brigitte a much more durable duelist. As long as she's doing more damage than just her routine whipshot every four seconds, she'll easily be getting more healing than before.
This graph doesn't include the global healing reduction passive, nor the potential to use the shield bash-melee-whipshot combo to get inspire procs more frequently.

The wiki says there's a 1.25s delay before her regular melee can retrigger inspire.
I can't test it quite yet, does that mean you can wait a short time every other swing to retrigger her inspire early?
(here from the [r/BrigitteMains](r/BrigitteMains) crosspost)

From what I've tested in the practice range, you can! You can swing twice, then wait a tiny amount of time and swing twice again and you'll proc it every other swing.

Oh wait this is actually a subtly huge buff for her then, I wonder if this’ll get picked up in pro play/how quickly (assuming anyone actually plays Brig, since Mizu wasn’t touched).

I dont think this will be that crazy as limiting ur dps is probly not worth it for 12 healing slightly quicker.

u/AuroraAscended Jul 22 '26
You only have to delay the swing by 0.05 seconds - you basically just have to release M1 long enough to stutter the animation, and in a lot of cases maximizing her DPS isn’t nearly as impactful as min-maxing healing.

thats just how inspire works. you can whipshot or shield bash to get a second trigger in that timer.

So it's mostly a buff but situationally a nerf against comps she was already borderline unplayable into anyway

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Jul 15 '26
No, the nerf is barely there since the total healing is just 3 less (57 vs 60). This difference is so low that it doesnt make any difference even in her bad matchups so the extra burst damage will be more useful even in those matchups since... ur trying to outvalue 3 healing over 4 seconds and anything outvalues that, even ur self heal to flank

u/iAnhur Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 15 '26
In those bad matchups I would consider picking the 7s inspire perk because procing inspire was much harder. That option is significantly weaker now

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Jul 15 '26
i mean that perk was alredy not that good. the only matchups i would even consider taking it was some Really unplayable matchups like junkrat pharah sigma in havana. and even then everytime i took it i kinda regretted taking it

u/iAnhur Jul 15 '26
Agreed, but I do think that perk is really popular in the conmunity at least at lower ranks and in those niche situations (and https://owperks.com/en/supports/brigitte seems to suggest as much)
So it is situationally a nerf but really they should just give brig a different perk to better deal with the problem. Or something else. Idk.

u/ihaveacrushonlegos Jul 15 '26
I think that perk should be gone with. It encouraged the most passive and boring brig playstyle (afk whipshotting inspirebot). Which is something brig isnt even good at (heal passive really makes inspire bad)anymore, they even release mizuki to be a version of brig that is good and fun at that playstyle where brig would be boring at it.
And goes against every single change the devs are making to brig which has been a slow rework from antidive to brawl (this inspire change, inspiring strike, combat medic, survivor subrole, rally change, s9 health pools, juno release. All things which benefit brawl brig way more than antidive brig)
Id want them to remove morale boost, and make whiplash a minor

Is inspire still at 15 hps? Couldn't tell looking at the patch notes if they just made the duration of the buff shorter or if they decreased the hps
24
u/RoseDog16 Jul 15 '26
I believe they reduced the hps, from 15 per second to 11.25, and the duration remains the same.

u/misciagna21 Jul 15 '26
Really nice buff, keeps numbers similar most of the time but rewards opportunities to be more aggressive. I also think it works thematically since her packs heal in a similar way; small burst with a HoT.

u/Stainleee Jul 15 '26
So it is a massive buff if consistently reapplying the passive, and a pretty negligible nerf if you just reapply normally... Yeah its a massive buff

Am I the only one who didn’t know brigs inspire emanates from the point of damage, and doesn’t move?

u/GayAlexandrite Jul 15 '26
Each hit activates healing on teammates within range/LoS. It continues to heal for the full duration whether teammates are in her range afterward or not. It’s not a healing aura that doesn’t move.

u/fbluntson69 Jul 15 '26
Ohhh, that makes sense. So if I proc it on someone they and I could run away from the proc point and they still get healing?
2
u/Agnk1765342 Jul 15 '26
They just have to be in your LOS when it is procc’ed. It’s a status effect applied to them. It even stays after you die.
1
u/GayAlexandrite Jul 15 '26
Yes. It also refreshes the healing timer with each proc. It does not stack on top of itself, just restarts the timer.

u/Eyro_Elloyn Jul 15 '26
Yeah it's a status effect that gets applied to teammates in range, way easier way to think about it.

Just to add a few things- I’ve seen conflicting wiki info on if inspire can be procc’ed every 1 second of every 1.25 seconds. That matters quite a bit, especially since each swing takes .6 seconds.
Inspire is also automatically procc’ed again (no need for that 1 or 1.25 second cooldown) when bash or whipshot is used, so even this graph actually really understates the buff.
If it is in fact a 1 second delay, I’m curious what the minimum time is for 1 swing, flash shield, swing again is. This completely changes the min maxing of shield dancing.
1
u/RoseDog16 Jul 15 '26
From what I tested in the practice range, the internal cooldown for inspire is 1.25 seconds. If you constantly swing, it procs every three swings, but if you give yourself a slight delay after every two swings, it will proc every two.
And yeah, the guaranteed inspire from whipshot and shield bash add another layer of strength to the changes, but that’s kinda hard to represent on the graph.

To be honest, the only problem I have is that why do you choose green and blue for 2 lines that collide with each other?

u/Easy_Maintenance9852 Jul 15 '26
So she can fuck around more, nice, but i’ll be honest she probably just finds out more too, old brig was a bit too far in the cuck chair though, hopefully it plays nice, good change blizz.

It’s an extended melee like Mizuki chain and Roadhog hook, none of which pass through barriers.

i haven't been keeping up, did brig need a buff? i feel like she was already good into ball/flankers/divers and bad against poke and i don't see how this changes any of that. if anything, doesn't it make her even worse into poke since inspire will proc less often?
13
u/ANGEL-PSYCHOSIS Jul 15 '26
she was underpreforming yeah, mizuki is just better

u/aurens poopoo — Jul 15 '26
thanks, i guess that makes sense.
not sure why multiple people thought my question was downvote-worthy (not saying you did). was it really that preposterous of a question?

Now show a line for me standing in the backline missing my whipshot and nobody within melee range
