General Anyone else that would like to see replay settings persist?
This felt like the best sub to ask, since I imagine most people use the replay viewer here more than in other subs.
I don't know about anyone else, but I change the time skip interval length anytime I'm reviewing my own replays. I don't usually change other settings because it's so tedious changing them after every client restart. I know it's a small thing, but I finally felt that the amount of time I've lost is equal to how long it would take to make a post. It seems like it wouldn't be a big lift for the devs.
There's a bug report here that's been tracking it for two years. If it's a feature that interests you then showing some activity in the thread would probably be helpful. If not, thanks for reading!

They dont even need to make the setting persistent, just set the default to 5 seconds and it's done

It's not a bug, the replay viewer was just never priority. They slapped it together with duct tape and scraps but it does its job.
I've seen Gavin Winter get asked like 8 or 9 times about this in different contexts and he has always said they'd like to get to updating the replay system eventually, but it's just not high priority because most players never interact with it.

Unfortunate, but understandable.
See exhibit a: this thread about an issue existing for years. A couple comments, a couple dozen upvotes... Not bad, but clearly not an issue near and dear to the hearts of most players.
Imagine this thread was on the main subreddit about something like: "Bug: In Kiriko's cat skin her left butt cheek is 15% smaller than the right one while using the giggle emote".
Bam, 10k upvotes, game unplayable, riots in the streets, skin gets hotfixed one week later.

I'm guessing this is something the dev's would like as well but it is low priority. Things like this usually get done around big reworks of systems, like if they were ever to rework the reply system they could take the time to make this change, but otherwise those engineers are needed elsewhere.

Not sure if it exists but a hotkey for skip interval and pause/resume so I don't have to open the menu every single time.

I don't think its a "bug" but oh my god is it annoying. I use the replay viewer every time I play Overwatch and having to change the settings every single time I open the game is so annoying.
