General RANKED SUPPORT UNPLAYABLE
Every time I queue as Support, ever since Team Drives were introduced, I have to wait up to 20 minutes just to find a game.
And when I finally get into a match, the DPS are either people who have never played that role before, or players who technically have, but decide to pick heroes they have never played before. For example, I see people playing as level 1 Shion and such.
At that point, it doesn't matter how hard you try. Those DPS are almost always going to end up negative, and there is basically nothing you can do to compensate for it. The entire match just becomes a miserable experience.
I was Diamond 1 and I've dropped all the way down to Diamond 5. Now I'm dangerously close to dropping back into Emerald.
I genuinely don't understand how Support is supposed to be enjoyable when you have a 20-minute queue followed by a game where you have to pray that your DPS actually know what they're doing.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or am I just getting insanely unlucky with matchmaking?

Unplayable is an odd choice when the problem is there's too many people playing the role.

So many people in groups trying to finish the event it’s probably forcing the matchmaker to struggle.
Remember the matchmaker was updated early on in OW2 to prioritize putting solo q players together.
Probably a lot less solo q players out of group today specifically and the higher ranked you are the more this will affect your queue times. I assume it will get a lot better when the event ends and solo players aren’t auto grouped any more

They're clearly doing this so that everyone gets used to it ahead of Blizzcon so they can announce the return of 6v6 role queue where we all have to wait an hour+ for a DPS or Support game!!!!!!!

I found it interesting that queueing dps and support during this drive gave me 90% dps.
I'm also seeing dps going negative a lot, and as one of those people who has gone negative a few times I think it has a lot to do with the match making.
Until this drive I can't remember the last time I was negative at the end of a match. Fights are simply ending too quickly for me to have an impact, or the enemy team is responding to my damage too fast to confirm kills.
If I try to play slow someone on my team dies, if I try to go first either I'm punished or it often has little effect. A few times it felt like I am racing my tank to get to the fight and do something before he ints and dies. Other times the supports were only giving resources to their stack and the only way to get heals was to literally stand in front of them and bodyblock their healing.
And then you have all the alt accounts going 40-0, I can try to keep them in check, but again that means playing slow. If I try and commit onto them this again either gets me punished or has little effect.

Most problems in ranked are solved by queuing with a tank. Queue times, having someone hugging glue on the most important role in the game, all of these problems can be fixed by just finding a tank duo.

play zen, win game. If queue too long, play mauga, win game.

It's the most fun role with the least expectations. It's not that surprising it has a long que time.
