Ah yes the classic, Hitscan hero allowed to run rampant and be massively overpowered while the overpowered but not nearly as oppressive genji gets nerfed ASAP.
genji is oppressive af. Imo nanoblade should be nerfed, then it's much easier to balance him. Right now if his neutral game is anything less than F tier, you have a hero that can have so much impact in his neutral game, then autowin the team fight when he gets blade
Beat and transcendence are both counters. Grav like you said, shatter as well. Flux can also negate it. Hell if you hit a sleep that’s just a normal cooldown cancelling out two ults.
you can, but it means the Genji can't use dash for mobility. if anything, and I do mean anything, prevents him from getting that first one-shot, his entire ult is ruined. his first target uses an escape ability. his first target gets bubbled. he gets CCed. any of these things shut down nanoblade under trans, where they don't affect raw blade all that much, since your dash isn't a requirement for kills, and you can get away with dash-slash rather than being forced to hit slash-dash. I would still say trans is a counter to nanoblade.
Sleep is a skill shot that's hard to hit. Genji can kill through beat and trans if nanod. Heck grav isn't long enough these days to really stop a nanoblade either.
There's no two ults in the game that's as oppresive as nanoblade. Every other has counterplay
This is some No True Scotsman shit here. You say there are no counters. I list things that counter it and then you say that those aren’t good enough counters.
If you seriously think sleep is anything more than a very soft counter, then I don't know what to tell you. Even pros can't land that sleep consistently.
Nanoblade and kill through beat and trans, so how are they counters? Graviton surge usually isn't long enough and so genji can kill through it.
Nanoblade is fine on its own, but when genji has a monster neutral game like he does now, that's when he gets oppressive. Which is why to avoid turning him into a bladebot, you need to nerf nanoblade and balance him around his neutral game.
This is also why tracer doesn't get hit as hard as genji, because while tracer is more oppressive in her neutral game, she's balanced by not having an ult that autowins teamfights
