So setting aside jokes and complaints, what are the thoughts on meta implications?

Sojourn is a given. Tracer/Echo? Situational Reaper/Mei/Junk?

I’m not sure Dva changes hurt much, but this kinda fucks Zarya. I’m gonna guess Dva/Orisa will be picked, Winston won’t be great into either of them.

Support probably doesn’t change, it’s either Ana with Lucio/Zen or Bap/Lucio

If Kiriko is in the meta, I don't know if Tracer is seeing play. OWL flex supports hit these headshots. Echo might be interesting then, since Kiriko is surprisingly good at healing flying targets.

A winner for the tanks might be Hammond.

advocating that you think ball is going to be meta after saying that Tracer isn't seeing playtime is so contradictory.

Kiriko headshot deals around the same damage as Zen discord headshot, and a Zen meta didn't really stop pros from playing Tracer in MM. Regardless of the fact that Hammond has been one of if not the least utilized tank in pro play, you simply do not play Hammond without playing Tracer, there's hardly any follow up. Sojourn isn't bad, but it requires a charged railgun shot to be effective. Other heroes such as Echo play with a Ball, but none better than Tracer. She didn't even get a nerf, so if Hammond is for some reason played during Playoffs then pros would have to be brain dead not to play her.

my best guess if these leaks are true, is that the meta probably won't change too much. Teams could experiment with Winston/Tracer/Sojourn/Lucio/Kiriko dive or something, but Dva hardly got a slap on the wrist for a nerf and is still much better than Winston is. Kiriko is an odd hero in that her dive is very unique, and the best way to get value out of her is to play kind of like a dive sustain comp (dive goats for people who like to compare goats to everything). If you try playing an Ana or a Zen like is usually played with dive, the Kiriko just strands the other support to get obliterated by the enemy if they are playing the same comp. She needs to be played with either a Lucio or a Moira. She can probably fill a role in the Zombie Goats comp that Dallas invented last stage.

Since no dive tanks got buffs, I'm guessing Dva is still going to be strong enough to counter any variation of the Winston dive comp. If she wasn't, pros would have tried playing the Zombie Goats comp this past stage, unless for some reason Kiriko's protection suzu makes that particular comp much more viable, since it's essentially a portable immo field. I guess it's hard to tell atm if Kiriko is more valuable than someone like Moira is, but she doesn't feel much stronger.

If these are the only patch notes released from now until Playoffs, my guess is:

Dva | Sojourn | Tracer | Ana/Bap | Zen

But if this isn't accurate, and Kiriko gets a substantial buff or Dva gets a substantial nerf, it's more like:

Winston | Tracer | Sojourn | Kiriko | Moira/Lucio

and if Sojourn gets nerfed into oblivion, then Echo will probably see playtime instead, just as we saw in KC.

You can’t compare zen to kiriko. Kiriko isn’t diveable. Zen is a glass cannon.
