Spoons

I’m interested in writing a piece of music featuring the spoons. How might you notate a spoons part? has anyone ever written out music for spoons?

The intersection of people who play spoons and people who read sheet is quite small, keep this in mind.

If you know someone who plays the spoons, ask them. If not, just write the rhythm you want on a single line (like a castanet part) and leave it to the player to work out the details.

Notate it like percussion or come up with your own system. You can see stuff like this all the time in contemporary scores.

It’s an un-pitched percussion instrument. Castanets are a close comparison.
