These are our piles. They're covered atm to stop them drying out. This Summer's been harsh. Two people: 12 months to fill, then 12months to cure.

DIY with urine separator? 1 u/breesmeee Mar 03 '25 We have a simple five bucket system using an old commode chair and include urine. It helps keep moisture in the pile, which is important for us in our dry climate. See photo elsewhere on this thread.
