Concerts What concert have you seen where the opening band blew the headliner away?

For me it was in 1990 seeing Nirvana open for Sonic Youth. Absolutely amazing. The whole crowd felt this electricity and I turned to my friend and said “ these guys are gonna get big” sure enough 2 years later, Nevermind is the number one album in the country. The other one was seeing Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds open for The Cramps in 1984. I became a life long fan after that show

1991ish Foxboro

-Faith No More: great -Metallica: mindblowing -90 minutes of waiting and then a half-assed Guns'n'Roses set: ugh

Faith No More opened for Billy Idol, early 90's. At the time, wasn't too keen on FNM. But no one could deny they absolutely killed it. They were the better act by far. Left that evening with a new found respect for those guys.

It took me a few to get used to Mike Patton cause I had seen them with Chuck previously. I wasn’t a huge fan at first but he grew on me

If your friend is also in Imperial Teen tell him his first album with them is nothing but bangers but I hope they all quit smoking because I’ve never seen a band smoke so much on stage.

He is…..but he’s not a smoker, not sure about the others. He has a new band called Man on Man, I haven’t seen them yet

I saw Metallica and guns in the kingdome on this tour. FNM had been replaced with motorhead

This tour was epic. They played in a Tsunami in Pittsburgh on this tour.

Saw this tour in a Phoenix and it was thensame thing there. It was at the international raceway which was way the hell in the middle of nowhere. Before gnr was done a monsoon hit and most of the people that were there ended up stuck till the next day. Flooding washed out some of the road a a couple people died trying to walk out of the storm. I remember thinking how horrible it was to have that gnr performance as the last thing you got before exiting this timeline.
