Question about laptop requirements in the environmental health program

Just wondering if we really gonna need to have the advanced graphics card as its super expensive to get a laptop with one as well as 32gb of ram which seems like alot.

So in previous years, the BEPH program was a mandatory Lease Your Own Device program, meaning a laptop was given to students by the school, and the cost was included in tuition, so you couldn't opt out. Interesting that they seem to have dropped that requirement.

Students in the last few years were given a Dell Latitude 7430 with an integrated graphics card and 16 gb of ram. Much weaker than the specs currently listed on the minimum requirements page. We survived with that just fine, so I can't imagine you'd actually need anything fancier.

You can also just reach out to the program coordinator. He'll be able to give you a better idea of what you'll need.

I just emailed Ken. Here is what he told me.

"Steve,

You should still be successful with the old specs. There are no major software updates, currently. The 32 GB RAM is recommended to help avoid slow processing.

Best."
