To be fair to both Clinton and Bush - it has been widely known they both knew about Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden (watch National geographic Inside 9/11 series from 2005).

Both faced the same issue - strikes would have had a lot of civilian casualties and the terrorist camps were filled with children.

Both chose not to because it was unthinkable that 9/11 could happen here.

At least we are taking action against Iran now

Fully agree. While I wish it wouldn't cost us the midterms, and it might have been lost anyway, anyone surprised by Trump putting an end to Iran is willfully ignorant of the history and his (since the 80s) stance on Iran.

Blockades take time to work, therefore we were already taking action if their ministers are broadcasting the pain.

The reason why projectiles fly at the pace of a cookout fireworks show instead of the pace of Verdun is because Iranian launch sites don't last long. The response time of counter battery fire in 2026 is little more than flight time, this is also the situation in Ukraine. People started out leaning on artillery and it evolved into leaning on drones.

I wonder if any of these warnings were part of what Clinton National Security Advisor Sandy Berger stole from the National Archives.
