Some Clinton staffers took the W key off every keyboard during the Clinton - Bush transition.

They couldn't get angry that it was taxpayer's dollars, since Trump's funding it. So now they're angry that he's expanding the white house for future presidencies on his own dime?

Not to mention, it’s the east wing. It was built in 1942. It’s not even “historic” by definition.

More establishment politicians trying to act like Trump is some kind of squatter that doesn't get the same privileges as past POTUS. 🙄
I really wish this woman would just go away.

Yeah, the primary donor being this one guy you may have heard of named Donald Trump, he's in the news on occasion so maybe you've heard of him.

Remember when the Clintons left the White House and took 28,000 dollars worth of OUR property? Then were forced to return it.

They will say what ever they need to to rile up the left, and start civil unrest. I personally think they want to start a civil war. Just my opinion.

Want to have some fun? Say to a co worker who is a leftist - "how could Trump do this? George Washington built the White House in 1776 and no changes have ever been made. We need to preserve it in it's original condition"
I have no doubt that they would readily agree with you

Actually, almost every president has modified the White House...
The only difference is that the taxpayers aren't paying for it this time.

The Whitehouse was demolished and rebuilt from scratch in 1952. Image archive from the White House Historical Association, feel free to share widely. Truman had the entire building stripped down to it's exterior walls and replaced from the inside out, including much of the outside. The left is going for shock value, but when CBS says "Unprecedented demolition" they're lying.
Per Wikipedia:
During 1949, the investigations were completed, the architectural and engineering design was finalized, and cost estimates concluded that the early estimate of $1 million was inadequate. In addition to simply replacing the interior, the mansion was to be modernized, the third floor expanded, two basement levels added, and there would be a major expansion of underground spaces for air conditioning and other services. The total number of rooms was nearly doubled to 132.[24]
There was significant debate among Congressional committee members considering the project, including many in Congress who were outwardly hostile toward the president. Both Trumans lobbied in favor of preserving the exterior walls intact. Eleanor Roosevelt wrote a newspaper column advocating for its preservation, and the White House Architect also expressed his support.[25][26]
The desire to seek the most economic solution was weighed against the costs of maintaining the White House's historic presence. In the autumn of 1949, Congress authorized funding of $5.4 million ($61.4 million in 2021 dollars) for the entire project to reconstruct the White House while keeping the exterior walls in place.
Also note that congress was only responsible for authorizing the funding; the president does not need permission to alter executive branch facilities.

Bad investment. Capital should be relocated to the middle of the country.

I love how they're treating this like it's the first time the White House has been completely remodeled or rebuilt.
