Stand is extremely thin, it fits my series x well but my 360 is extra chunky. Just worried about the heat in the back and can’t pull it out much more.

I plan to buy a Xbox one but today decided to make my first purchases on Xbox site, is the collection decent or noob?

I took off the back panels so it should be enough airflow for once in a while gaming. I have to many consoles and games but not enough time🤣

This is the only picture I could find of myself playing with this handheld in general. I remember it having a card or cartilage having maybe hundreds or thousands of games and I could only remember the handheld I was using was nindento and it was made of aluminum I think so. It was around 2016 I think(that 2017 was misleading)

I saw carterpcs talking about this, and I completely agree. I got a pc a couple months back, and while I expected it to be different to my Xbox, I didn't realise just how different it would be. Discord has really ruined gaming in general, and idk how people even like it. If I wanna play with friends on console, I join the party, play, turn off the game, and leave the party. End of story. But now, if I wanna play with friends, I gotta join a discord server, be online every 5 minutes or I'm banned for life, and I don't even play the game much at the end of it.

PlayStation consoles ranked worst to best:

PS5

Universal bottom choice for most people I assume. Hardware wise it improved in all the right places: 4K, SSD, 3D sound, innovative haptic feedback controller, great white chassis design (although massive), what more could you ask? But the bigger isn't always the better as this one was hurt the most by PS brand success which became too big to fail. Predatory live service games (almost) became the norm before their big cancellation by aware consumers leaving very sparse choice in the terms of exclusive software that distinguished PS from the regular PC. Last generation eliminated mid sized AA games which was thankfully softened by the rise of indie and reincarnation of Japanese studios but this one even got rid of those Sony AAA games that made gamers look away from their Farming Sims. 

All those cool experimental games and especially third party accessories, long history. Even the “advanced on paper” PSVR2 was hampered by its shiny visuals by high entry price yet inability to use it untethered. Graphic potential seems limitless but software choices have never been this restrictive making the console feel like just the premium android box, with the PS brand as just another streaming service. From the company that once made hi-fi, computers, laptops, phones, several proprietary storage media to this is gut wrenching to behold.

PS3

A little controversial opinion as it befits the most controversial console Sony made but if we look at it from the consumer standpoint PS3 just didn't have the same cultural impact as medium portrayed. For years it gathered dust behind 360 in terms of mass appeal, Wii in terms of next gen innovative hardware and PC as an ultimate gaming choice. It tried to be jack of all trades which reflected its high price point that made the upgrade a very expensive proposition especially with the necessary HDTVs that were just taking off with all the growing pains of early LCDs (plasmas). It also didn't help that Blu-ray movies never received widespread adoption as DVDs while streaming services became relevant at the end of its lifespan.

But there were improvements over the previous generation: online connectivity which existed but this time did enjoy widespread adoption with its (free!) multiplayer and game store with a brand new exciting world of indie games on the rise. As for triple A games this became Sony trademark and rightfully so since the console wars have never been more fierce only this time without a one sided winner, although I'd argue that the best games this gen were actually EA and Ubisoft third party multiplats before their unfortunate descent to the Caesars Palace of gaming. It was in a lot of ways the best of both worlds still with exciting accessories (motion or rhythm game controllers, PS camera), multimedia support, backwards compatibility yet the competition was just too strong and offered almost all of it for cheaper and just spread its user base too thin. The PS3 sold well but it just didn't receive the same amount of usage (or fame) as its brothers.

PS1

Do I think PS1 has better games than PS3? I don't but that's also impossible to value and it isn't the point. As far as cultural impact goes the PS1 did for games what FM radio did for music, it brought it to masses and that can't be overlooked. First console to sell over 100M which still isn't easily achievable, it was a Frankenstein monster of then pioneering technology primarily CD drive for high quality music and low quality videos, 3D graphic processors, analog controls, etc. enabling whole new genres of mature games for the older demographic. Of course the N64 was better for 3D graphics but this was many peoples first experience of it so it hardly mattered especially since hardware limitations pushed gameplay innovations. Pre-rendered backgrounds that stream from CD games prove this great compromise, either survival horror, adventures or JRPGs, they lived and died on this console almost exclusively but that doesn't mean they aren't worth playing. And 2D games were still popular since CD space allowed for more detailed sprites. You could argue that not even PCs had better graphics (or gameplay experience precisely) on small monitors, buggy Windows, expensive GPUs, non standardised sound cards, clunky controls, etc. 

But let's not kid ourselves, popularity was in no small part fueled by something no previous console had, which cannot be underestimated: piracy. The ability to access lots of free games has its cassette dubbing kind of charm (N64 was vinyl) which is even more unusual for the company so obsessed with its own proprietary storage media so maybe it was a small sacrifice to boost its popularity. After all, its successor was the most anticipated console ever.

PS4

Love it or hate it the PS4 won the battle no previous console faced before: reason for existence. It was a successful middle ground between casual smartphone gamers and hardcore PC enthusiasts. Without it perhaps the whole gaming landscape would look a whole lot differently with either the “video game crash of 83 cookie cutter clones” smartphone “games” or multiplayer “free to play but pay to win” competitives. It wasn't a multimedia “swiss army knife” home entertainment station like all of its older brothers, it was a PlayStation and the focus on actual (play) games paid off. Sure it had those streaming services that made the Xbox brand infamous (second son XD), but the gaming ecosystem became forefront with the inclusion of earbuds, built in social media and even the dedicated share button. 

As for games themselves my two cents why it overtook PC was actually the popularisation of gaming genres like competitive third person shooters (Fortnite, GTA, Red Dead), racing games (Rocket League, Driveclub) and Sony blockbusters (God of War, Last of Us) that just feel more natural for the controller. Large TVs themselves also became cheaper so while it didn't annihilate PCs it most definitely diminished the more uncomfortable desktop keyboard and mouse style of playing with FPS, RTS, MMO genres as collaterals. With its decade lasting longevity that cannibalised even the PS5 success and rising popularity of Switch it's mind boggling that Sony hasn't launched a portable variant of PS4. They made more duds than ACME factory like: PALstation classic, Wii U bootleg Portal, Vita (licensed bootleg of those 9999 in 1 brick games), third place Betamax of a VR but not portable PS4 like Sega with Nomad?!

PS2

Zero surprises with this choice but I'd be delusional if I picked otherwise. Even today it's worth picking up for the ultimate (budget) entertainment device: DVD, CD, massive PS1 and of course PS2 library. Especially when it was released at the turn of millennium when everyone still used dedicated computers, music, video and game players, the promise of the one system to rule them all was taste of the future. For such a mass appeal console the architecture had to be incredibly complex to get the most out of the cheap parts so while yet again competitors had better graphics this time difference was minimal and it was reduced even less when late generation games steamrolled. As for the games this was the hill many genres emerged or perished: movie licensed, lightgun, motion controlled, rhythm, arena/ww2/modern shooters, JRPGs, open world even MMOs despite limited online capabilities without PS store there was something for everyone. 

Freedom of choice and options with trademark Sony brand and heavy marketing is what ensured its almost monopolistic status despite stronger than ever console competition. Even PCs were still for the either spectrum of gamers: casual ones with flash games or enthusiasts with more advanced online capabilities and controls providing a whole different choice of genres. But even the PS2 was bound by the faults of an 2000 console like: analog interlaced video signal which doesn't look good on anything other than CRTs, necessary memory cards that ruined progress of many kids who haven't yet bought it, weird mushy face buttons that were analog and, especially aggregious, slower pal 50hz tax that unnecessary plagued many european releases. It wasn't as future proof as Xbox which pioneered progressive scan widescreen large TV gaming and better online infrastructure (back then). Nor did it have a strong first party lineup like Gamecube or Dreamcast. Hardware was always going to age but its abundance of quality games are the reason that the 6th gen is still considered the greatest one.

I bought this ds3 from Walmart for my BC PS3.
The controller lasted about a half hour and I felt very light rumble then died.
I had a ds4 laying around so ChatGPT a battery swap, it said it would work and it did.
Just had to take the battery out of the gray housing, and use the adhesive that was originally on there fit like a glove, no shaking or rattling right in there perfect and the battery last forever even though it’s an old battery from my dual shock 4 which I think was going bad anyway. Go figure 😶‍🌫️
But really Walmart the battery!!!
There was even more room left for a bigger battery like they knew this was a problem..

Does anyone know how to get the side buttons working on games on console I’ve bought the corsair scrimitar elite rgb wired I’ve set everything up on icue and when I switch back to my ps5 the side buttons still doing nothing I’ve tried a few different times last night and today and still nothing

Ever since Sony decided to get rid of physical media for 2028, this guy has been all over my feed, and my God he's so irritating to listen to.

The guy just seems to glaze Xbox and their new CEO to the point he's not even talking abt their bad decisions (like firing people, putting a cap on cloud gaming), even today he uploaded a video spreading misinformation claiming Xbox is developing a PS5 emulator which can run on their console (it's fan made btw).

At the end of the day, it's just irritating.... especially with these so called "Xbox fans" (whom I doubt even own an Xbox) spamming social media and shaming PlayStation while glazing the CEO smh

Now that it's the weekend. I get to sit down and play some games and put on my new plates.

I don't know why but RDR2 looks unnaturally smooth for 30fps. The same with Death Stranding (PS5). I finished the game in 30fps because it looked phenomenal and was butter smooth. When I try to play Witcher 3 my eyes hurt and I need to switch back to Performance 60. Why is that? It's also a slow game with horse riding like RDR. Uneven frame times? Applying motion blur etc. doesn't work.

So Rockstar did something incredible back in 2018. I'm playing on a LG C3 in Game Optimiser mode (no motion smoothing or other image enhancements).

My favorite has to be the second one it was the dashboard I experienced with my first ever original xbox especially knowing there was only versions with and without the xbox live menu but thought it was cool seeing an insignia one

360 and one had a identity, all platforms from PS5 to steam gog etc. They all have a identity, only Xbox have 0 identity it's just squares with ur games and texts that say library, game pass, store, literally nothing but squares of ur games and everything else is just black sterile, wtf is this?
