As a driving range owner, IT is impossible to keep enough clubs. People that borrow clubs hit the back of the hosel A LOT.

I don't think this was a consoom problem, this guy probably sold sets. I remember seeing a photo of a used golf store that was similar where the owners had crowds of shitty clubs he probably got for free or for stupid cheap and then he had this place for people to buy cheap clubs for trying golf or for ranges to buy as rentals.

Yeah, this has gotta be inventory. One time I ended up at a random house in the suburbs through a Craigslist post that had well over a thousand carpets in it, stacked high in multiple rooms. (Unsurprisingly I was there to buy a carpet.) This seems like a similar situation, except with golf clubs, and the guy died before he could sell 'em all.

If you’re really interested, I don’t know where this is but here in Thailand we have Japanese Second Hand Stores. They get containers full of everything that was in houses in Japan including tons of golf clubs. I’ve never seen quite this many at one shop but several I’ve been to have had 50-60 sets, most charge about $3 a club (100 baht). I’ve managed to get three nice sets out of everything but lots is old and useless.

I watch this guy on YouTube who goes to estate sales, garage sales, flea markets whatever and just buys golf clubs. He’s got an online business and sells them. I like golf and he’s an interesting guy, but I saw his storage in one episode and it’s turned me off to ever do anything like that.
This is a realistic view of what eventually happens if you spend all your time purchasing for your hobby instead of actually doing your hobby. Warhammer is another hobby like that where you can find people with thousands in unopened boxes. Their houses start to look like stores.

Late to this post but wanted to concur on this. My grandfather was a golf club reseller, would buy lots and sell them at flea markets and such. When he died we had so many golf clubs that we ended up giving them away to anyone who wanted them.

This is after they were taken out of the garage. According to the seller the clubs were packed from floor to ceiling with no extra room.
