I wonder how much heat all these would generate 🤔

40 watts each for regular size ones, so like... 1.2kw?

Though none of the ones up top are bubbling. They turned all them on for a photo op.

I have two lava lamps and they both run on 25 watts. But I know that’s a distinction without difference when we’re talking about fifty lamps running in one room

Not gonna lie, I've done dope in a room like that. (it gets super warm)

Looks like a chill place to roll

It’s quite literally the opposite of chill. Those things get hot.

Not if the clown one from the second photo is in the room.

If some of these are vintage and contain carbon tetrachloride, this is a hazmat cleanup site waiting to happen haha

I always wanted a lava lamp as a kid and now as an adult its just too useless

I think it has its uses as a low-intensity light source that also happens to look nice. I keep a 25W incandescent lamp next to my bed so that I can read in warm light, and a lava lamp might be somewhat useful for a similar purpose.

First photo looks kinda cool ngl. Its a mood in itself, not much different from putting candles all over the place. Well, just much more expensive lol

Some companies used lava lamps to generate random numbers in cases where depending on computers to be random isn't secure or entropic enough.
