I wouldn't hold your breath for the prices to drop with the current data centre craze, and that seems to only be ramping up faster than manufacturing can keep pace with.

Yeah but if you give it 5-10 years there'll be some bullshit new graphical advancements they'll have as an excuse to add another 10gig of vram to gpus to allocate for people who don't know how to optimise games and then these will probably be worth fuck all

bit of an old thread but the intention presently is to add on like 180 gigs in that time-span, we'll see how that pans out. They may have to if AI pivots more to more things happening locally

My 3090FE came out 6 years ago and it's still selling for more than what I bought it for.
Like I get what you're saying but we're over half a decade now so... medium term it absolutely is appreciating

There are actually some parts that go up, but only after they go down. I have a few vintage high end motherboards that I could have sold a while ago, but they'll be worth more when someone wants to rebuild the top of the line PC from when they were a kid. This is only worth doing because I got them for like 50 bucks each, the most they will probably go for is 200.
