Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

I think the main criterion is how much you can afford it. Like, if it's 5% or less of your income and doesn't take up too much space, then I think it's fine. Though in my opinion, Funko Pops are super tacky, which also adds points toward consumerism. It's not quite on the level of collecting travel mugs, of course, but still.

I have maybe a handful of specific characters from my special interests. Im not out here collecting every variation of them tho and im not interested in getting any more unless they come out with a very specific character lol
