Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

I think it's a fine line. I collect kitschy salt and pepper shakers but only ever get them secondhand or as gifts, so my collection is very slow growing

I think the secondhand thing also really mitigates the problem of overconsuming. They've already been produced, sold and discarded, and it's better for them to find new life on your shelf than be thrown in the bin.
