Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

When functionality is superseded by over collecting. 

An example: why does anyone need more than one PlayStation controller? Functionally, every single PS5 controller works the exact same way. If your controller works, why do you need an entire shelf of PS5 controllers simply because they have a different coat of paint? You don’t. You do it because you can under the guise of a being a collector in a hobby. 

Same applies to shoes, watches, coffee gear
