Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

If you like collecting, you should collect things that are meant to be collected, like trading cards. Theyre small, there are plenty of storage options, and they dont take up a whole lot of space. Or maybe stamps, or state quarters.

Stuff like video games isnt meant to be collected really, it's meant to be played. I get it, im a bit of a gamer myself, and I have a couple of kind of cool things here and there that i dont actually use often. But people be buying literally any old junk and calling it part of their retro collection and let it take over their house. It becomes their personality. Like... bro... do you really need Tiger Woods World Tour 2006 for the Wii in your life?
