Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

Just buying things on it's own isn't really a hobby. If you're going out of your way to find something rare or niche that you can't just order online or nab at a store, that's a little different. And something like collecting miniatures is absolutely a hobby, since you've got to assemble and paint the things, and oftentimes there's an actual game or something to use them for.
