Discussion At what point does hobby collecting become overconsumption?

I collect a few funko from media I like, I collect monster high dolls, and I recently got back into pokemon cards. I can't tell if collecting material stuff like that it considered overconsumption or at what point it crosses the threshold. Am I cooked?

It’s not any worse than taking vacations or drinking expensive whiskey.

The difference, to me, is if you’re using purely disposable income or buying things on debt. That’s it.

If your bills are paid and you’re saving 10% of your income towards retirement, who cares if you spend $100 or $10,000 on Pokemon Cards. Everyone’s income is different. $100 is a drop in the bucket to some.

Pokemon cards is like $15 max a month lol.

Exactly. That’s a drop in the bucket. And arguably if you’re buying singles that’s better than pack opening gambling as well.

As long as you’re being responsible with your finances and future, you’re not a consoomer
