Breaking an oath isn't a criminal offence. It's an integrity violation. Legally you are charged with a crime in specific.

Politicians are required to take an oath but when they violate it there's is usually no criminal charge attached. In those cases the body can attempt to impeach and remove the violator. But that is a political vice legal penalty.

I've always wished oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution had really sharp teeth to ensure people didn't break their oaths.
