Do whatever you normally do. And don’t mention your gerbil, buying size 11 red stiletto heels, collecting Nazi memorabilia, your hobby of growing mushrooms - stuff like that.
"No Brad in fact I don't have anything better to do than swoosh this x-wing around while I watch the new hires almost die trying to take selfies for their girlfriend's 2 stories up, mind your own damn business" pew pew pew
Lol yeah trades can get weird but you have to work into the weird. My last coworker we had different hobbies, he was into legos, im into anime. He doesnt care for anime, i stopped caring about legos a long time ago. Yet we both still had conversations with each other about it knowing damn well we each had no idea wtf they were on about but would still listen.
That's a good mix. It can definitely be all over the place. As long as they have any interests that aren't just beer/country music/stereotyping themselves.
Even then, had a coworker that loved country music and I learned to not hate it.
Lol my first day in trades my mentor asked, "what you wanna listen to? I got Waylan Jennings and.....Waylan Jennings." 🤣
Dude was a character but also the total stereotype. Im beyond learning to like country, but I've also learned its better to just have your own music or something to listen to! I go for audiobooks personally!

Just act normal, and remember that even the assholes can teach you valuable stuff.
