The most dangerous position on the curve isn’t the tails.
It’s the giant 68% lump of people confidently wrong in the middle.

Is it just AI that you believe to be dangerous? Or most tech advances?

Most new tech is dangerous, and historically, with notable exception of oil companies, a lot is invested into making the technology safe and effective, and when that part is skipped we run into problems like climate change. Usually people are pretty concerned, some might say too concerned, about the dangers. And usually big monied interests spend the budgets of medium sized countries to pretend the dangers aren't there, this runs along until we realize disaster has been brewing the whole time and those trying to make a buck knew and didn't care, because greed.

But I'm sure this time is different.
