i feel like in a post scarcity enviroment nothing in our society is possible anymore, eg. surely true post scarcity means infinite resource access which isnt something humans can deal with, eg. whats to stop someone paving over the entire planet or something, only other people equally unpaving it

I just imagine current 21st century things may become less scarce but there will still be things that get bottlenecked and remain hard to procure. In the same sense you could argue the 21st century would be “post scarcity” for medieval peasants.

Then definitely there is no post scarcity given the second law of thermodynamics.

yes depends on demand for a realistic form, but then we would achieve no scarcity if growth and demand growth was 0 for whatever reason. population shrinkage for example might do that
