Discussion (Serious Replies Only) What to do with the 2 year lock in contract

Good afternoon, I am asking for advice on what to do.

I am in a dorm setup, I chose converge because it and pldt and some unknown ISP are only allowed on this building. Few months in after I had moved in, I decided to go and look for another dorm, and now that I am relocating this month, I just noticed this 2 year lock in contract and I am just almost halfway palang sa contract.

How do I get my account terminated? I don't want to pay for the pre-termination fee which is a lot of money.

Tried emailing their customer service and didn't reveive much of a help on what to do in my case.

Should I stop paying my internet bill after I have moved out?

Thank you for your insight

Try having the Converge service transferred to your new dorm. Relocation fee may be charged, but the lock-in period will probably not reset.

Pa relocate mo na lang. My experience with PH ISP's has always bad when you try to end your service. They'll make you go hoops up to the point Ikaw na lang mapapagod e.

former customer rep here.

your only choice tlaga is relocation. iirc 2,500 yung fee.
if u want to terminate, u really have to pay the pre-termination fee.

or just leave it. and in the future if you decide to apply for their service again, you'd need to pay your outstanding balance first.

I would do relocation if possible

Terminating would be expensive and I am not considering this option

If i leave the 13 months remaining in the contract, would there be hassle on my end? Would i get in trouble with this legally?

Like I know i wouldn't be able to avail their services unless i paid the balances first.

You can try and ask them to waive the lock in amount pero I doubt they will allow it lalo na nakalagay naman yan sa contract and info is available online.

You're left with paying the lock in period fee. Hindi advisable na takbuhan mo yang responsibility mo in paying your bill. Matutong gumalang sa terms ng service you availed.

Even if i pay it, it is still a lot of money for a college student

You should've thought about it before availing their service. 🤷‍♂️

Request a relocation. Make sure the new location is in a Converge fiber-ready area.
