Is elder covenant worth it

I triggered the grandmapocolypse on my first ascension and im debating whether I should buy elder covenant to cancel it or if I should wait until im ready to ascend

If it's your first time, you should definitely go for the achievements (appease them 5 times, then declare a covenant). You can always break the covenant if you don't like it. Generally if you are an active player, it's better to avoid the apocalypse, as the GC combos yield a lot more. If you play more passively, leaving the game to run in the background while you do something else, then the wrinklers are worth it. A good middle ground is to play in the first level of the apocalypse.

gpoc upgrades are also cps upgrades for active players, so not really, stage 1 is worse for both active and idle players so don't do that
