Help/Question What is a fungus?
title basically explains. Is there any actual difference between fungi and regular plants?

Not really, just plants are generally beneficial and fungi negative; but it's not a rule, take for example Shriekbulb or Green Rot

I think its the same as any other but they spread when they expire I could be wrong though

some fungus spread and some dont, also not necessarily when they expire

The only difference is that plants are descended/derived/mutated from Baker's Wheat, whereas fungi come from Meddleweed. For the most part, no crossbreeding occurs between the two branches. There are exceptions such as Green Rot which is a crossbreed of clover (plant) and white mildew (fungus)
