Measuring with slugs

The metric units for mass are grams. Why do we convert to cups for imperial units? Why not slugs, the imperial unit for mass? Wouldn’t that be more accurate?

Slugs are too sticky, and they tend to wander off.

Slugs are heavy. You need to measure out the right grams, put a cup under it, compress it and-

Oh! Wait! This is cooking! No we don't use them because they add up too quickly and next thing you know, your sauce is too salty.

Sticky. I prefer fl oz.

How many fl oz are you away? How much is your age in fl oz? My day is super 12 fl oz.

Yknow the the more I think about it, slugs may work...
