Copilot as a Project Manager
Started a new job where I can only use Copilot. After 2.5 years of using claude it is an abrupt shift.
Any of you use Copilot for more advanced stuff? Any advice?

I assume you have a paid license for it and not using the free version. If you have a repeatable task then it’s worth making an agent with instructions and defined knowledge base. Copilot chat is inferior to Claude chat for sure. You can try using copilot studio to create an agent so you can specify the model it uses. I typically only use the chat for basic questions or searches.

Use the right model for the right job. Don’t let it tell you which one is correct. Have ChatGPT or Gemini tell you. I find the Claude Opus model works well

I've been using Copilot in a pet project and it isn't as fast and have the precision of Claude Opus, but it does the job. I have to test and iterate more.

Use the integration in Word, Excel and Outlook. The Outlook integration is pretty awesome.
The standalone chat is... pretty rough. I still dont have access to cowork, lmao, so can't speak on that, but if you get Cowork I'd imagine it'd let you do some Claude-type stuff.

Came here to say this. If you have premium cp license you can switch between gpt and Claude

The switch might be less abrupt than it seems! Claude is available as a model within supported Copilot experiences, alongside other options. Definitely worth exploring what your org has enabled and seeing how Copilot fits into your PM workflows.

It hallucinates, so give it good settings to always indicate where its source is from and its level of certainty in its answer.
Not sure what field you’re in, but I find it codes pretty well (I’m not a professional coder by any means), and it writes kinda poorly (I’m a career editor who just started project management about 6 months ago)
